If it isn't fun for you, I don't blame you. Good luck.

Okay, I am new to SL, so I know I will probably get blasted for this, but...isn't there a lot of stuff that still works for us? The +30/+30 group defense is nice. Yes, it's not overwhelming and won't keep people from getting hit, but I haven't found anyone that does not like +30 to their defenses for free, and this is for the WHOLE group. Add Rally to that and EVERYONE (other than the combatant thing) gets another +80 to their defenses, not to mention the +40 Accuracy. Non-scout players also are surprised when they can run up hills without any problems. The Volley Fire seems to make a differenceas well. Plus it does provide Assault armor cert and a dabbling of combat skills.

All in all, I know when I join a group that people are generally glad that I am a SL. Several people have told me there is a noticeable difference when I am in the group and when I am not.My SL noobness would suggestthat the professionis useful, buthas a lot of useless skills associated with it - Boost Morale, Retreat, Burst Run Efficiency (does that do anything now?), and a few others. Replaceor change thoseskills andabilities and maybe beef up Master SL and I think SL would be fine.

I just hate to see people leave just as Ishow up. hehe. But then again, I haven'thad to go through the changes that you all have had to go through, so I can understand that you might get a bit fed up with it.

and yes i did regrind it but i noticed that we are badly broken. I went ranger for a day to get the hero of tat quests and well i saw that ranger to be of any real good use in pvp has to have another combat profession and then again most of the skills dont pertain to pvp and no healing. Its to hard for a squad leader to actually fight on his own. Without being severly combat oriented like i was but im going all the way. I may not give bonuses to my group but leading groups doesnt mean haveing bonuses it means leading your group i dunno how to say it like i should i just know u dont have to be squad leader to be a leader. Im a rebel i may no longer be squad leader but still a rebel my duty is to fight and thats what i will do

lol look at my forum rank im going pistoleer/carbineer with a heavy sideline in medic 0440 CM 4000 if only squad leader had some good combat specials something that actaully helps the leader If we are uber fixed to the point where we arent so dependent on our other combatskills i will come back because a SL by himself can not heal do damage a leader to me has to be on the frontlines with their troops not back away snipeing or something has to be right there chargeing the enemy I dunno thats the way i think I havent thought about it much

I just left the Prof. myself. It is too broken, and no noticable interest on the part of SWG to fix it. I'll come back if it gets fixed.

welcome aboard, norbert. you maybe a newb, but by taking SL you are automatically NOT a n00b.

The +30/+30 group defense is nice. absolutely correct. we're not broken; almost all of our specials work. in fact, off hand, i cant think of one that doesnt work. the problem is not broken specials, but questionable effectiveness of those specials (Boost Morale, Steady Aim work, but they are horribly inefficient).

Yes, it's not overwhelming and won't keep people from getting hit, but I haven't found anyone that does not like +30 to their defenses for free, and this is for the WHOLE group. case-in-point of questionable effectiveness. prior to the CU, this was pretty nice. but now, its just a drop in the bucket because of diminishing returns formula. however, when grouping with low CL players it is a bigger difference.

Add Rally to that and EVERYONE (other than the combatant thing) gets another +80 to their defenses, not to mention the +40 Accuracy. our second best special. learn it, love it, live it. check out the macro guide for really simple way to keep this baby cranking non-stop!

Non-scout players also are surprised when they can run up hills without any problems. The Volley Fire seems to make a differenceas well. Plus it does provide Assault armor cert and a dabbling of combat skills. dont forget it benefits you as well. so do all the other passive mods. as long as you're in some kind of group, whether w/ a pet, a droid or a player on another planet!

Replaceor change thoseskills andabilities and maybe beef up Master SL and I think SL would be fine. read through this forum a lot (shameless self-plug: read the +10 human leadership thread) and you'll see that being a SL is more the player and not the specials. while they do benefit the group, YOU can be the most devestating special available. they work, but finding the value in them is sometimes the difficult part.

I just hate to see people leave just as Ishow up. hehe. But then again, I haven'thad to go through the changes that you all have had to go through, so I can understand that you might get a bit fed up with it. there really haven't been many changes to our profession (except for xp type) and THAT is the problem. we were untouched by the CU for the most part and that has led to our profession being of less tactical value. we weren't nerfed; we're stuck with pre-CU values in a post CU game.

Welcome aboard Norbert. As often as I get mad at SL (to myself, and wish to change out of it), I can't find any other profession that I could enjoy as much as I do with SL. I have been an SL player through multiple games, and I enjoy it. And yes, it is you who makes the profession and not the profession itself. You said you may get blasted. LOL You've definitly chosen the wrong section of the forums to get that. From new players asking questions, yeah, a lot of other forums blast the new player, but here, well, in a sense, we're sort of a family. We may disagree with each other, but we respect each others opinions. I have yet to see a fight within this thread of one SL saying the other is an idiot. The only time that happens is if someone else comes in from another thread and says something that they don't know anything about about us and then depending on what was said, they may or may not get blasted. But we're leaders here, some of us understand that as a leader of groups, we have to be leaders here as well. So just remember, there are no stupid questions in this game, just obnoxious answers.

Im gun shy from other forums so I tend to search for all the answers to my questions before I ask them hehe. Here though most questions are answered in the sticky threads but thank you for the warm welcome and if I come across a question I cant find an answer for ill post here.
