Thread: A Master Squad Leader Camp type
I been thinking, a Combat Oriented Camp that gives ranged deffense and melee deffense, and a sorta perma rally... A bunker...
Allow Squad Leaders to make a Bunker type camp to " Dig in," to a spot and hold it, would come in handy for hairy PvE situations and PvP
Any suggestion, positive ones not anything like, No this is impossible and Rangers should do that...
No, we should do this I think... Because we have camping skills as well... We ought to.

I think it would be cool. I would prefer if we had it over rangers, but if rangers had it at least it would be in the game.Most warfare historicallly involves mobility and fortifications. We have mobility, but no fortifications ability. I would love to see us get it as a form of SL upgrade.
Ranger isn't a combat oriented class, whereas SL is. Ranger's use of camps lies in post-combat environments, this would be a great combat environment camp.
Such as, everyone in the radius of the camp (made to look like bulwarks, bunkers, sandbags, et cetera, all non-collidable) gets a ranged defense bonus of say, +20 or so (i.e. a 10% bonus) at Master, perhaps.

Agreed. Rangers already have stuff like htis in the plans last I checked also.
No heal modifiers, no allowences for entertainers, no crafting stations, just purecombat bonuses. I like it.
It wouldn't have to be a whole lot, but seeing as how most riflemen can't sample their own resourses, they would have to be worth the cost.
But note, if the camp gives no healing propertys and bonuses, it becomes aa Squad Leader unique trait...
Basically, the camp has no heal modifier, and cannot be used fix wounds of any sort, it is Designed for HEAVY DUTY BATTLES... A place to hold ground and give your Squad a Reason to stick with you...
Example of a Basic Bunker at Novice SL
+10 Ranged Deffense
+ 10 Melee Deffense
+5 Volley Fire *they have the ability to concentrate*
+5 Rally * They have cover, they're holding ground, gives them more hope
+ 5 SteadyAim * More time to take pot shots...*
Now, thats a basic Bunker type camp... We could lower these buffs to 5 across the board to go with adding a few more bunker types at the tops of Stategy, Tactics, and Leadership... Not Mobility though, Mobile and bunker dont mix...
Example, the Bunker that comes from getting the Leadership tier will give +10 to Leadership related skills and buffs that will help the party in a Leadership Tier fashion... * Note the buffs of +10 would be for boost morale and form up, and an extra Melee Deffense boost...*
Same with the other two tiers... Come up with names of those bunker types that fit the Tier...
And at master, we get a decent all around Bunker of...
+20 Ranged D
+20 Melee D
+15 Steady
+15 Rally
+15 Volley
etc...
Note, this is not a CAMP, its a bunker.... It is for Deffense *and it will give the deffenders a little more power Offensively, if ya catch my drift...* Also, when using a Bunker, we only get the buffs if we're IN the bunker... We wont be as mobile while using...
To my knowledge, no camp is combat oriented, they're rest and healing oriented...
This is combat oriented, I do not see how we take away from Rangers... Although I could see it if we were asking for a Camp to heal up in... Instead, I want a Bunker to Fight from and in...
I am up for suggestions for balancing out this idea and making it workable from a Rangers perspective without taking much from them... Please read out the idea, and come up with things that will make this type of Bunker Distinctly SQUAD LEADER and not infringe on Ranger Territory..
Hell, I would settle for ONE Type of Bunker at Master SL... I would Die a happy man if we got Two, one at Novice, and One at Master... And I would think the Devs have gone crazy if they went along with Five * one novice, one at the top of the Non Mobility- Tiers and one at MasteR*
Eitherway, just ONE would be perfect...
