Thread: was I just bug'd or is Squad Leader broken?

My ALT is now SL 1-2-4-2. With all my group in range (me as group leader) NONE of my group reported and change whatsoever. No one noticed any different movement up hills, no one reported and melee or ranged def improvements. The /boostmoral command did nothing at all, and we all had different levels of damage and wounds.

Is it just my toon or is this normal? If SL is broken I might as well just go with medic, at least then I KNOW I am helping the goup.

That just sounds messed up. When you did boostmoral, did your toon at least shout something? There was (still is?) a bug where if the SL didn't start the group, sometimes a few things wouldn't work - did you start the group, or get invited in?

I was invited and as soon as they knew I was SL, I was made GL.

When I would /boostmoral I would yell out the "we are in this together" but nothing other than a drain on my HAM and a/yell would ever happen. Same thing goes for the rally and steady aim.

Its just frustrating, spending time to try and help and be of use and well, nothing.

This is a know bug, you have to be the group leader to start with. It's iffy at best if your invited and then leadership is transfered to you. Best thing to do, is to disband the group and re-group everyone. Then your skills will work most of the time correctly. I have noticed hower you don't always get the terrain movement ability to work on yourself but other can take advantage of it. It's kinda funny to see a novice marksman run up hill faster then you at times, when you have scout and he doesn't but because of your SL +50 to terrain neo, the novice marksman will have 50 terrain movent and you will still be on 40 from your scout, try it out some time and have a laugh! lol

I know for a fact that boostmorale, steadyaim, terrain negotiation and the defenses work... I've tested them with guild members. Only difference is I'm a Master SL so my bonuses are higher and I know what to look for in each ability. Boostmorale is great when you have a CM that actually uses their ability to heal mind. Some one who thinks they will be god-like because there's a SL leading their group has no clue about our profession. Our abilities are enhancements that are meant to increase the survivability of your group, not make them gods.

tried it again last night, i made the group myself, still no one noticed any improvements at all. i am now 1-4-4-4. just for my own knowledge, if i am group leader, will the others in the group actually see a +# on their skills? like with adding bio clothing or sea's?

Yes, godlike abilities are reserved for those with Doctor buffs.

Go to dath with someone that doesn't have scout and they will notice they are now running up hills. As far as the other skills, no it doesn't show up anywhere. That has been requested in the past, for the bonuses to show up on other group member's CTRL-S. As far as the passive bonuses of melee def and range def, it has be verified by many players that they do indeed work.

A way to verify the ranged and melee defenses is to have someone solo a high end mob.. like an enraged rancor out of group and watch the combat tab (not spam) to notice how many times he/she gets hit per the number of times he/she is missed. Then group them and have them do another enraged rancor and watch the same thing. It is important that they not use state attacks as those will affect the rancors accuracy and skew the results.

Incorrect, I'm afraid. People with +50 Terrain Negotiation don't move up hills any faster than those with +40. The description on Terrain Negotiation (and I've verified this) states that any mods higher than +40 affect your crawl speed, not your running-up-hills speed.

I'm sorry they must have changed this, in the past it was 0-50 was terrain movement and 51-100 was crawl speed. I'm sorry to put out bad info. And thank you for the corrections. But now I have a bug to report, A doctor/TK, is able to run up hills faster then me,this doesn't seem right does it? Shouldn't we be running at the same speed up hills. and he is quite a bit faster then me, not just a little.
