Thread: New SL Looking for the best way to get xp
I believe this is listed in numerous posts, but it can be tough to sift thru it all.
I don't have the equasion in front of me but esentially it's tied to the Combat xp YOU earn for a kill times the # of peeps in your group (of course you must be the (L)eader of the group.
I thinkin a 5 person group SL xp = Combat XP and in a 20 person group you roughly get SL xp = 3x combat XP.
So if you want xp do max damage in a big group.

Artrus:
xp is gained the following way:
SLxp = combatXP x 2 x #inGroup
so, the 2 things you want to do are:
1) get as many people in the group as possible (yes, pets DO count, so ask everyone to group their pets & droids)
2) hit for as much damage as you possibly can (for more combat xp)
I find that taking big groups to Endor or Yavin is a fun way to get good SL XP. Fort Tuskan may be faster, if you can stand the monotony and absolute lack of RPing. But I reccommend big groups on death planets.
Oh, and always invite all your pets. Just for that little xp boost.
Look for alternative ways to get combat exp. Medics get combat experience for healing combatants during combat. Bounty hunters have reported getting combat experience (in excess of what they normally would get for straight shooting) for using bleeds during combat (they reported getting more combat exp from using *only* a bleed and not shooting at allon a small mob).
Experiment a bit, but you should be able to get more combat experience than simply by blasting away at the mob.
Nope, No alternatives. I did the math, and this is what I came up with, (It's important to point out that I haven't searched for previous answers)
You attack a mob with a pistol, that is worth 1,000 pistol xp. (100 General Combat xp)
Grouped with (1) Pet (that just hangs out, no attacking): ~400 SqL xp.
If I use Traps, my General Combat xp is greater than the 100, but the SqL xp doesn't change, So, I beleive that the answer is=
SqL xp= (Group Members / 5) x Weapon of Choice xp
Which also means, it seems, that unless you're a part of a guild that will carry you for a while, It's like trying to fill an entire career tree with General Combat XP.
Its easy actually.. just get in a big group with at least 1 or 2 medics. just tell one of them to keep focusing their healing on you.. and then just spam specials all day long.
You dont have to kill big mobs.. i mean.. i was in a group with like 14 people, and just running by a dwarf nuna, i shot it once, and got like 242 SL xp.. it was hilarious ![]()
so just get in a big group, and kill a buncha stuff.. or be cheap, group with your pets/droids and then group with a bunch of entertainers/musicians in the cantina... go out and do missions.. the missions will be harder, and give a better payout and you'll get more SL points.. the insentive for the musicians/entertainers, is that as you complete missions, they get "tips" ![]()
Go to Dantooine with about four other people and hunt Seething Bols. I was averaging about 7k xp per Seething bol killed and 8-10k xp per lair.
With alittle luck I was going up one entire skill tree every 4-6 hours.

20 person fort tusken group you get 5-15k SL xp a kill. Faster, easier, safer.

I'm all about Dantooine...less crowded, higher paying missions, big-ass animals, and the planet is purple!!
I haven't done Fort Tusken, but I don't like places where there are lots of peeps hanging around (Theed, Coronet)... Too much chatter and lag.
I get 6-8k per lair and 6-800 XP per animal. It IS a requirement to have a group. Well, some guys can solo there, but not many. Everyone will be dying to have you in their group.
