Thread: New Squad Leader Ability Sugguestion
I just Read a post about how squad leaders are basicaly useless. while i dont entirely agree with this statment i do belive they made some valid points. while squad leaders do have several ablilites that power up large groups their abilities are limited by the poeple in the group, a group of 20 newbies is nothing compared to a group of 3 or 4 expert players.
one idea i came up with is to give squad leaders a "Call Reenforcments" comand. this ability would depend on the players faction rank. it would cause same faction NPCs to spawn in that area temporaily, or has same faction NPCs with in acertin radius tohead to teh groups location.it might also send asystem message (similar to /sysgroup comand) to all same faction players that are not in the group within a certin radius and would include the group coordinates so they can locate them
are you taking about the bonus to terrain nav? or are you talking about general running speed? from what i hear terrain nav is working, but i do think it would be a good idea for SLs to have the abily to boost group general running speed
this would make SL much more useful to groups as groups with a SL would be able to complet missions faster
probaly what i would like to see is if only the SL experianced teh increase in radar range so they can spot mobs form fathers away, but still not completly eliminating the need for area track.
if everyone experiances the radar boost then it takes away form the Leadership aspect of the SL profession
I liked the original idea of having NPC temporarily spawn to back up your squad. That way you could go to bigger planets with smaller groups and get back-up on the spot if needed. While bonuses are nice, abilities are nicer to see, especially if they're practical
