Thread: Any Squad Leader bugs in Publish 18?

Hey guys - while I have not had any specific bug reports yet with the new publish, in the eventuality that any are discovered, I'll need a clean and unclutteredplace to track them. Please use this thread ONLY to report any NEW bugs encountered in Squad Leader(or general group management) that have appeared with the release of Publish 18.


To clarify:


  • Don't report here any old stuff that is still broken.

  • Don't propose here any new ideas for fixing or revamping the profession.

  • Don't ask here for status updates on anything else.

Just new grouping/Squad Leader bugs introduced in today's patch, if any - please.

Well, I led a group to kill Necrosis about 6 times last night.

The only bugs I noticed were the same old ones.. SteadyAim only last 1 shot still.

Here's an old bug that I think has resurfaced. I've noticed that my passive mods (Group Terrain specifically) don't seem to work if I've invited to an existing group and /makeleader'ed.

There's one I've noticed to, and since I rarely find a group from scratch and get invited into my friends groups then made leader, I think people figure, this guy's not adding anything to our group. My anger from my last reply on another post hasnt gone anywhere yet so I'l stop there.

I could be wrong, but I dont think volley fire works now since publish 18. unless i'm bugged. i logged out and back in and nothing. only thing i did was add a +10 CA for volley fire. is this just me or did anyone else notice this?

Greetings SL's. I am new to this profession but I have been playing mmorphs for years. I am not sure if this is a new bug so please bear with me. I am a Master SL. and from time to time I find myself just standing thier with my SL hotkeys greyed out. I run no macros and i don't spam keys till i see the skill is available. If I try Rally then Steady aim, i can't shoot after...maybe its me thinking too many steps for my computer to push out, with the new codings? Next thing I get is invalid target messages because the npc is dead. Well tonight im gonna assemble a group and hit some bigger targets to play test this alittle more.


I like this profession, just i picked the worst template to work with it... Master Commando/Master SL, both professions have no specials nor fruity flavors. But i like leading my friends into battle with a big boom.

I noticed last night in a group that I was invited to that my Rally didn't seem to apply to everyone except who ever joined after I became leader.


Usually I'm the one starting groups for my guild for PvP purposes and this could be why I've never had the problem in the past.

today i hit volley fire and it made my defult attack have the same cool down timer as the volley fire, the only other shot that I have besides the generic ranged attack is overcharge shot so I was kinda stuck. I was also told that when you apply volley fire it puts a bullseye on the target. Is this correct because I have never seen this.

dobe, it does put a bulls eye on the target. if you dont see, it might be a graphics settings issue. sorry, but i dont know which items to tweak to try and get this.

thank you for the reply. I do remember lowering my particle effects right after cu when someone would heal you and it would do the animation everytime you got on and off of your bike. Maybe i'll raise that back up

Volley fire is still working perfectly for me since the last publish, yep, I see the accuracy bonus in both pvp and npc battles, and I can see the target. Skill attachments do NOT work for this ability. DEVS PLEASE DONT WRECK THIS ABILITY, I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO GRIND OUT ANOTHER PROFESSION.

I have noticed that there has been some added annoying lag to the squad leader abilities steady aim and rally, somtimes rally will have the power up then nothing happens, then 5 minutes later it does the power up again and it works, might just be a leg issue for me and not everyone. Both steady aim and rally still have problems sticking to everyone even when Im standing still, Ive formed the group, all group members are special forces and im not doing anything else but standing.

Mods on group members are not showing in skills or character sheet, I read somwhere after last publish that some people could see it? I never could.

Even if it did work the time limit before it wears off is so short its useless. Only way an ability that lasts for one shot and wears off in 30 seconds is going to be usefull is if it gives a +500 accuarcy bonus or somthing crazy.

Rally also wears off to fast. This would be a very nice ability if it would last a couple minutes. HEY DEVS! MAKING A SIMPLE CHANGE LIKE EXTENDING THE SL ABILITIES CANT BE THAT HARD? can it?

Form up no longer works in pvp, this was intended in the last publish, this ability should just be deleted from the game now, unless its made to cure all states. Then it might be of some use for hunting or pretending your in some intense action killing the exact same spawn of stormtroopers over and over and over again while pretending your part of a galactic war.

Somthing more related to scout but an ability that SL has is improved camp. Somtimes you can still get attacked even though when crafting the camp the info says that you are safe.

Absolutely true. I've also done a small mathematical analysis of steady aim. Take a look here to get the confirmation that it's at the moment absolutely contraproductive.

I wouldn't complain if it would last a bit longer, but it's more or less in line with similar abilities. (Duelist stance, anynone?) Thus i don't expect this to get changed soon.

By now i can say, the statement by itself was wrong. The last days i had some base busting action which also included a big deal of PvP. (If you want more info, go to the Infinity galaxy board and look around... Operation Imperial Dagger...)

With formup i was able to clear stun and dizzy which were induced by hostile Jedi. I was not able to help our Jedi in any way, though, when they were attacked by a bounty hunter. (Which i actually consider a quite ridiculous. over 30 imperials, busting a rebel base, and some BHs can simply walk in and pick the Jedi down and nobody in the team can do anything about it. I personally consider that to be an exploit, they use the system to strike at single members of our team without having to fear the team next to them...)

I've noticed people I'm not seeing anyone except myself getting the Rally icon either lately(we've been passing Group Leader around quite a bit recently, training a new SL and stuff so its probably part of that) but I will see everyone get the Steady Aim icon (provided they are on leave). Really weird part, I may not see them get the Rally icon, but I think they are seeing it, in fact one of my friends had to jump to another planet for a few minutes and reported seeing the Rally icon even though we were on different planets!
