Thread: A Categorization of Every Documented Change to SWG by Flatfingers on Radiant
Uh... note that the original posting is from 09-01-2004.
The numbers since then definitely changed, you can bet that we SLs also got more changes in between. Don't forget that it was mentioned more than once that /formup was nerved... *grin*
Despite this small detail, i think that the tendencies are still clearly seen from the document, which still leaves us down at the dark hole in the ground.
did you notice the post date? i would be surprised if our total of mods and fixes even trippled since then.
i wonder what the numbers would look like since this annalysis. perhaps if i paid more attention in Statistics class i would know where to begin...

I don't think you would find the new numbers all that different. They added weapons......they claimed to have taken form up out of PVP.....still not many changes all things considered..and WTH is up with the Rangers saying they don't get any love and are worse off than SL? They are up there in the top 10.

/sigh
Things are a little better now. Mastery actually takes time, although it's Pistol-wielding time and not Group-leading time, like it used to (and still should) be. Volleyfire is alot more useful in it's post-CURB form, although BoostMorale is alot less useful.
/sigh
The thing that I'm wondering if a lot of these profession that have voiced their opinions, what about us, if we get some good ideas, not uber ones? Even if the ideas are just fixes for our current problems, not new things to throw in. Like the fix on /formup or things on that scale, not massive changes. As some of you know, I'm not a trouble maker, but I do think that if we sit idly by and wait for something to happen, we'll be sitting a very long time. Though I do think that we should proceed delicatly, so not to enrage any particular person and profession or even get our profession more messed up than it already is.

You just confirmed that the numers will be different. From 3 to somewhat over 10, most likely. Unfortunately most of the points were "not possible in PvP any more" and stuff like that. I don't consider that being helpful to the profession, when they downgrade the few things we have to "balance" the BH/Jedi situation.
Also, the top 10 for rangers, take a look where creature handlers and droid engineers are on the list. They have the positions 2 and 3. But getting a lot of changes doesn't mean that they get any better.
Sure, it means they at least are not totally left out and forgotten, but it does not mean that any of the changes are really helping them.
Yeah, that's what I said when I said..."I don't think you would find the new numbers all that different." instead of "I don't think you will find the numbers different". I don't really think we should count the guns they added anyway...everyone got those..they wouldnt really move us on the list as every combat profession would be moving as well. As for the ranger comment, I was refering to some of them that complain about not getting attention and getting less attention than us. I didn't address if that attention was good or bad, simply that they did actually get alot of it....and yes, they do get more love than us....even if they get even more nerf than us.

I saw what he said. If you can't catch on to a joke, then I can't help you. As for the Pitchforks....I am so there!
You refer to the post of Flatfinger? Then please also note that he included this sentence in his posting: "I'm not saying either of these viewpoints is right -- just that there's an alternative interpretation."
He didn't want to say that he things that SL are all fine, he just wanted to point out(by using the most striking figure, which is us SLs) that those numbers can be seen from different points of view.
My personal point of view is, we are to few, we don't get a lot ofrecognition within the players, so the Devs see little reason to fix us... and for they don't fix us, we don't get recognition and thus will always have low numbers. Hard to break this vicious circle without getting some forks and pitchforks and turning up at the Devs offices... *grin*
