I apologize if this is posted somewhere but I was unable to find anything in the stickies about this.

Do any of the current SLs have suggestions for a noob SL on complimentary professions to SL?

Pistols/Fencer until the CURB? Carbineer? Pikeman? I am pretty open to any suggestion. Please include your reasoning.

PVP:

rifleman is problably the best choice, most damaging very fast.

Carbineer is good IF you can spend millions on the SEAs

Pistoleer isprobably not as effective, can't combine with BH etc speed tapes are handy also.

PVE:

They all work decently do what you enjoy.

A lot of SL like to be in the front with the troops, which is good for pistoleer. A lot also like the posture affects and states you can apply with carbineer. Some like the damage capability of rifleman and don't mind being further back from the fight. The best profession will depend on exactly how you want to play your SL and waht role you want to fill in your group.

I am the servant sort of leader. I like to help the group. As a SL, I don't imagine myself as the damage-dealer or the tank at all. I am the coordinator and helper and guide who also happens to pack a mean pistol.

I agree. I will drop Rifleman as I gain skills in SL (Rifle IV works well enough). I compliment Squad Leader with Ranger because I lead a lot of large hunts.

is it possible ot master doctor and squad leader?

as far as a support profession goes a Doctor/SL (or maybe CM) would be the ultimate support character..

I did MSL and i think it was 4004 CM ( whicheverarent the crafting and the mind healing row), this worked well if you liked healing people and throwing poo. With MSL / CM you can still keep your group alive by healing them and stay far enough back to not take alot of the heat in battle and you can still help attack by throwing poisons and diseases. The down side is, your defenses suck really bad and if you want to go out and do something by yourself you will have a really hard time killing things, unless you get a prenerf nyms or something of that sort. Thats what i can say about MSL / CM 4004, Hope that helps that alittle

If you want to go carbineer and not have millions to spend on the SEA to make the speed good, then I suggest going SL 4 0 4 4, master carbineer, master marksman, BH carbine 1-3. You could sacrifice the field commander title so you can get the last box of carbineer to gain some more accuracy but I find this template suits my playstyle perfectly. I am doing a lot more DPS and I definately need that since i'm starting to get more known on the field.

Personaly I like the ***THIS STATEMENT IS IN VIOLATION OF THE COMBAT UPGRADE NDA. IT HAS BEEN EDITED*** template. It gives you the best mix of SL abilities, effective specials and some great weapons.

.... Gonna hafta wait for the CURB just like everyone else. ^_^
