Thread: Force Run and Retreat

So last night I'm down in the DWB and I got to in a argument with a Jedi over whether /retreat interferes with Force Run.

He said it interfered with FR 1 and 2. I said that /retreat is just faster than FR1 and 2 and they don't stack. Ultimately I just said "we have to do what is best for the entire group" and he said ok.

But I was wondering does anybody know this for sure?

All of my guild's Jedi whine about it too. Never seen it demonstrated to my satisfaction, so I have to take their word for it. Rule of thumb on Bria seems to be that if there are Jedi in your group, best not use /retreat.

I think it goes

FR1

FR2

Retreat speed

FR3

And since they don't stack they only notice they are going faster than everybody else when using FR3, not realizing they are going faster if using retreat.

But I don't know for sure and want to make sure.

QFE

more intersting might be though, that I somewhere read that you can stack a /burstrun on a /retreat ...

anybody can confirm this?

I told the jedi that *I* didn't have force run, and I quite liked retreat, and that he could disband if he wanted to use forcerun instead of retreat.

It doesnt really interfere... they do stack. The problem is in the burst run and force run timers.

A jedi gets their force run for however long, like 3 mins or something. That timer has to run out before they can force run again. The /retreat will stack with the force run, but when its timer runs out it slows the jedi down to normal again, making them wait the 3 mins or whatever to force run again.

The burst run/force run timer system has been broken since launch.

No, she was in the group. She's too mean to be a SL. Competent NCO though.

This "NCO" of which you speak better have a special called "mystical flying stab of heiney-whupping."

And yeah, I'm way too mean to be a SL. My motto as a doctor is "if you're not within 7m of me, you're dead, too bad." Well sometimes I'll play favorites and taunt an SBD away from poor, pitiful, defenseless Fanboi, but only because I'm a slave to the dizzy cure.

Aloha Folks.

Thought I'd chip in here because my guildies and I HAVE tested all of the questions here, so here are our results:

1. Force Run / Retreat: As Irott stated, it's the timers. Jedi Force Run has a 2 min timer, SL retreat is right around 19-21 seconds. So when the retreat wears off, the FR running jedi get their FR turned off, even though they are still in the FR state. It's busted, and a known issue. Anytime I get a Jedi w/ FR in our group, I tell them that if they need to FR, they need to disband.

2. You can stack /burst run on a /retreat, however the /burst run (if for a longer duration based on skill) will wear out when the /retreat wears off.

3. Order of speed:

  • FR1

  • Retreat

  • Burst run

  • FR2

  • FR3 = Olympic Marathon / Sprintingfreaks

The testing we did on the speeds was mostly done while chasing jedi, but this is what we observed.
