A link to the "Penny Arcade" strip which is a very humorous online comic that deals with Gaming industry issues and topics. Reading the "news" section will detail what the comic is about.
Evidently, this comic is in reference to the money dupe and subsequent banning of players involved. It seems as though it was a wide scale banning for those who had received duped credits and were unaware. A protest followed on a particular server by and for the innocentwithSoE decididing tonull the protest by warping players into space and randomly about the server, even shutting it down.
This is all secondhand info, anyone else follow any of these events? I don't travel far outside of the Smuggler forums if I don't have to. Though I hit my daily read at PA and had to share it with you guys and gals.

From what I've heard, there was a bug that let you generate new credits, with something to do with PA Halls.. they've fixed the problem so it can't be done anymore and in an effort to get rid of everyone that exploited, they've banned everyone bar the owner of vendors that came in touch with the money, so even if you were just randomly tipped by them, you've been suspended.
Having said that (and this was in the Launch pad update notes), they are taking appeals into consideration and doing everyone on a case by case basis, so to most, those who just got random tips etc., this will be an inconcenience, but they'll be able to carry on with their characters and their accounts after it all gets sorted out; meanwhile, everyone's banned/suspended, so there's no-one supposedly left ingame that had anything to do with the exploiting.At least.. that's the idea.

It was an old vendor dupe that resurfaced in 9.3.
The server which had the "strike" was Intrepid, there are some image dump pics floating around of the server message asking them to stop or they would shut down the server.
Intrpid got enough players in one spot to cause the server alot of problems so thats why they warped people around.

Good info..
The Lauch pad and the posts that were made by the Devs were all thatI was really getting about this. Though I wasn't really looking I like getting this kind of info.
lIke a new letter that is put out by players.

It's a BS excuse for warping players and shutting down servers... the same number of people could be there spamming for their vendors or other sales and SOE wouldn't do a damn thing about it. It's really hard to stand behind an attitude of "we want to preserve your play experience" when you shut down the server and nobody at all can play.
