Thread: A complete price guide for selling faction
- Private = 200 = 2,020 =6.5:1 (Costs 650 to send 100)
- Lance Corporal = 400 = 6,060 = 5.0:1 (Costs 500 to send 100)
- Corporal = 800 = 10,100 = 4.0:1 (Costs 400 to send 100)
- Staff Corporal = 1,200 = 14,140 = 3.34:1 (Costs334 to send 100)
- Sergeant = 1,600 = 18,180 = 2.86:1 (Costs286 to send 100)
- Staff Sergeant = 2,000 = 20,200 = 2.50:1 (Costs 250 to send 100)
- Master Sergeant = 2,500 = 25,250 = 2.3:1 (Costs 230 to send 100)
- Warrant Officer II = 3,000 = 30,300 = 2.0:1 (Costs 200 to send 100)
- Warrant Officer I = 3,500 = 35,500 = 1.8:1 (Costs 180 to send 100)
- Second Lieutenant = 4,000 = 40,400 = 1.67:1 (Costs 167 to send 100)
- First Lieutenant = 5,000 = 50,500 = 1.54:1 (Costs 154 to send 100)
- Army Captain = 5,000 = 50,500 = 1.43:1 (Costs 143 to send 100)
- Major = 5,500 = 55,550 = 1.33:1 (Costs 134 to send 100)
- Lieutenant Colonel = 5,500 = 55,550 = 1.25:1 (Costs 125 to send 100)
- Colonel = 6,000 = 60,600 = 1.18:1 (Costs 118 to send 100)
Now before I put my numbers down, I'm going to explain how I did it (in case I screwed up somewhere). Each ratio can be read as a percentage. 1.18:1 would read as 18%. The question is, what does the 1 stand for? Simply it stands for the amount of credits per faction point which is 80. So, to find the rates you can charge withour losing money is the percentage of 80 given by the ration added to 80. To find the percentage, you subract the equalities (1:1 is equal therefore an equality). That being said, here are my numbers.
key: rank =ratio = normal price = price if winning
- Private =6.5:1 = 520 = 470.99
- Lance Corpral =5.0:1 = 400 = 362.3
- Corpral =4.0:1 = 320 = 289.84
- Staff Corpral = 3.34:1 =267.2 = 242.02
- Sergeant =2.86:1 = 228.8 = 207.24
- Staff Sergeant =2.50:1 = 200 = 181.15
- Master Sergeant =2.3:1 = 184 = 166.66
- Warrent Officer II =2.0:1 = 160 = 144.92
- Warrent Officer I =1.8:1 = 144 = 130.43
- Second Lieutenant =1.67:1 = 133.6 = 121.01
- First Lieutenant =1.54:1 = 123.2 = 111.59
- Army Captain =1.43:1 = 114.4 = 103.62
- Major =1.33:1 = 106.4 = 96.37
- Lieutenant Colonel =1.25:1 = 100 = 90.58
- Colonel =1.18:1 = 94.4 = 85.5
Remember, all those number in blue are the price per ONE faction point. Also, it's only the bare minimum you can charge without losing credits. For a price to charge to make money, pick a percentage, multiply it by your base price and add the product to your base price. Personally, I'm going with a 25% profit margin for people I like, 35% for the average customer, and 50% for people I don't like. People I hate get a profit margin of 70%
So the prices I'ld charge at Colonel are: 118 - 127 - 142 - 160. That's firendlies, neutrals, annoyances, and **edit** respectively.
Hope this is useful to someone.
Bah, I forgot to include the link to the how to Dreven has stickied. It's at http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=smuggler&message.id=49056Sorry for not making it a clickable link but the html editor always messes up my posts and I don't want to lose the formatting ![]()
Dreven pointed out something I wasn't aware of which has an effect on pricing. Apparently, if a side is winning the GCW you pay 10k for 138fp. For this reason, I'm adding a new column to the price list giving prices for that circumstance. Oh, and the price per fp in this situation is 72.46 rounded to the nearest hundreth.

Shouldn't have copied it directly
What's right, 2.86:1 or 3:1? I always wondered ...
Otherwise a nice addition to the guide. I got to reconsider selling at 100 credits when reaching colonel heh
it's 2.86:1
someone pointed that out to me when I still had it listed at 3:1. I changed the ratio and just forgot to change the example.
It's fixed now though.
Nice price guide btw...but...
You forgot one thing. Your guide works if you're losing the GCW. But if you're winning the GCW, you get 138 points for 10k creds...which means your prices will be lower.

You've really got to love customers who are willing to pay 300 cr/FP for 20k worth of FP
