When you grind up the pistol xp lines, grind on bases and farm fp while you get xp.

This helps you to get higher rank, or if you are already a colonel you can sell that stock pile for $$$.

Not only do you get fp and xp, but credits and loot as well ( though it isnt always great ), locked containers and weapons you can slice while grinding Since i started my grind to master i have gone up 2 ranks ( at captain now) and almost to major. And i got some real nice AA's and CA's and about 140k credits from dead npc's.

I am mastering smuggler again for the 2nd time and this has always helped me.

Also do spice right away, you can sell that to make mney while you grind pistol xp. Slicing has changed since last i was a smuggler, will take you a bit of organization and room to slice through all the xp you need- nothing here to make it interesting, except the rare loot inside a container.

Hope this is what you were looking for, i am not a "pro" at smuggler but have found this to be a good route to go.

I strongly agree with grinding FP along with XP. Lots of people are too lazy to grind thier own FP. Get your self a food factory after you get spice IV and start pumping out Neutron Pixie and Muon Gold. Both of these sell like hot cakes on the bazaar or on a vendor if you can afford the skill points for Merchant. I use my buddies vendor but I think he has been skimming the profits lately. The bazaar has always been money for me. I can't seem to ever keep enough Muon Gold around. I can't imagine all the players that have been killed on a Muon downer. I love this game.

As a neutral, I went after the POI spots, they're fun and often ignored by the more advanced players of the game. If this is your Imperial and not an alt, then I agree with farming FP. I did that with my first Smuggler and things worked out well.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

If you're not morally opposed to macros, find a crafting macro on allakhzam or somewhere. You can whip through the spice tree real quick.

Hey I know you're on Bloodfin, so this may help. Lately a lot of people have been jacking up their prices for crates of smuggler tools. I've noticed, in the past few weeks, a lot on the Coronet bazaar for decent prices. Look under factory crates. It may have just been one guy dumping a bunch, but it could be a regular thing.

If you are looking for Experience or just something to do while grinding...

if you need exp ask your WS to run as many CDEF Pistols as possible in crates... I mastered a guy with 176 crates... he paid me 1.2 mils though.

It all depends on how fast you want to grind it. Spice can go by real quick if you have a big stack of crap oats and some metal. Once you get to Muon Gold and Pixie, you can start churning them out in your factory and sell them on your vendor or the bazaar. You might not get rich doing that, but its nice to log on and find 7 or 8 emails of cratesales you madeusing junk resources are giving you some spending cash.

Level the combat line first by taking faction missions, and you can slice the terminals too to grab bonus credits. You may be able to grind out slicing by sitting at the starport, but I gotta tell ya the only thing peeps may trust you with are containers and such. Besides, you are going to need clamps, and that's an expense you'd best compensate for by getting some profit out of it. I agree with Ono'mas and Easy E in a lot of ways. You can grind out slicing quickly by slicing knives, but why not earn valuable FP, valuable credits, and valuable XP at a slower rate by slicing faction terminals and doing the missions? Start building up your faction ranks, since they will make your FP sales in the future that much more efficient. After you master the combat line you can then start working on underworld. The reason faction missions are better is that when you do get to the top of the underworld tree, all the FP you earn can be translated into cash right away when players start asking you for FP sales.

Now this all assumes you don't have any access to free clamps or WUKs, and cash is an issue. If you aren't worried about cash or supplies and want to grind it out quickly, you may want to get a ton of knives or start buying up all the locked containers on the bazaar. But a little extra time grinding slicing on faction terminals will give you that solid foundation you need to make the most out of the profession when you hit master.

Breakdown on Slicing:

20 Unlocked Containers to Slicing 1: Total of 5000 experience, 5000 needed.

40 Unlocked containers or 100 Terminals to Slicing 2: Total of10000 experience,10000 needed.

100 Unlocked Containers/Weapons or 250 Terminals to Slicing 3: Total of25000 experience,25000 needed.

200 Unlocked Containers/Weapons/Armor Pieces or 500 Terminals to Slicing 4: Total of50000 experience,50000 needed.

Breakdown on Spices:

67 doses of Shadow Paw to Spices 1: Total of 8040 experience, 8000 needed.

100 doses of Shadow Paw to Spices 2: Total of 12040 experience, 12000 needed.

132 doses of Shadow Paw to Spices 3: Total of 16000 experience, 16000 needed.

167 doses of Shadow Paw to Spices 4: Total of 20040 experience, 20000 needed.

I list Shadow Paw because its the easiest to deal with while spice-grinding(pun intended). It takes 25 organic(any), and 5 mineral(any), and grants 120 experience per dose crafted. Also, you still get usage experience(about 40 points for each dose of Shadow Paw consumed), at least with pets, and feeding spice to them heals thier wounds. Usefull if your leveling Smuggler and Creature Handler at the same time.
