Man, thats sad...almost embarrased that we got mentioned. But it is good to know that we are being noticed outside of SWG. Maybe this will help us out. Lets keep those constructive, creative and awe-inspiring posts coming from this and quash any flames or angry posts that may come out, that will only hurt us more.
Good luck out there fellow Smugglers. Keep the faith.

I just read the headline off slashdot...those poor smugglers.
Well atleast we get one tree with some of the coolest and most varied skills in the game, too bad everything else is worthless. I have been smuggler for over a year now and I am not going to stop just because there have been no fixes/enhancements.

What is crazy is that the author of the article seems to have more than the average familiarity with what is posted on these forums.
He/she points out that "hundreds of carefully crafted posts and suggestions" were made on the smuggler forums.
Apparantly, he/she is kinda ticked off that Imperial officers smuggle better than the best master smuggler... and that smugglers seem to be most apt at hanging out in cantinas instead of doing their real job...
Interesting article, and it does feel good that all of our good ideas and suggestions got noticed by an outside source. Perhaps it will prod SOE into acknowledging them as well and maybe taking some steps to correct the problem.

Interesting list, I don't agree with quite a few points but it certainly funny to see us pointed out at #11 in reference to SWG.

I didn't like the point where he says that people threaten to kill eachother when someone uses the rocket launcher in Halo 2 to get lame kills.
No duh.
People say that crap all the time on Counter Strike. Crap talking in games is like shooting people or talking junk in gangster rap - a big show.

I'd love to see a Developer post about this just to see their explaination or reaction. I'd just be too funny since they would either "acknowledge this as a serious issue that we're currently looking into" or something. Funny stuff.
However you look at it, the SWG team should be ashamed for this issue to come up on GamePro's worst list. If it was some fanboy's page, that'slaughable, of course. But GamePro is one of, if not the biggest multiplatform gaming magazine in the world. I'vehad a continuoussubscribtion with them since like '92 or '93 and I know they've grown to well over 3 million readers.
So for such an issue to show up on this magazine's worst of '04 list is outright shamefull and proves how widespread this issue is and that it can't be ignored. That article should be printed, blown up onto a 3 x 2 poster, and discussed in depth when the Devs come back from vacation with a "what can we do about this right now?" approach.
Any group of individuals that had some common sense would see a problem that needs to be addressed but...then again, past history. I doubt anything will come of it and it'll be another statement that doesn't get "seen" by the SWG team. Something to be swept under the rug. /sigh

Most certainly. It promotes thebarbaric slavery and gladitorial systems of the past...
You "gotta have 'em all" to forcefully send them into battle where they try to dround, shock, beat, smother, poison, hypnotize, and burn their opponents who are also forced into battle.
It sickens me.
