Do any states or attacks prevent feign death in PvP?
Also is there a chance to fail when trying to feign death?

i dont know about states preventing it, but you can fail, you take the damage that was dealt plus the damage from the feign special, dont know how much it is though.
look in the skill boxes and see how much skill you have at feign, at lvl 1 its like 40, which is probably like 30% chance to fail, at lvl 4 its like 5% chance to fail.
jedi can break feign too, using a skill that cures all damage and states, so probably wouldnt be the smartest thing they could do.
there are supposed to be two skills that do it, not sure what the other one is.

Can't feign while Stunned, KD, or, Dizzy(not sure on this one).

I am very sure, Stun is the worse for FD. As is Knockdown. Dizzy Is also I believe as well as another, Prone/Kneeling?

it's just knockdown that prevents it, but states can bug your feign so even if you aren't in a state, it won't work. Happened to me, a Csr had to "restore" me.

Can we see some proof people? I have never noticed states stopping FD.
You just can't FD when prone, kneeling, or KD.

"cannot feign death while dead" lol, only one i really notice when my combat queue just doesn't cycle it in quick enough. one thing i've been wanting to test is FD speed though, anyone tried this? any thoughts as to weather it goes by the +to FD mod, or by +to Pistol Speed, or whatever it may be

As far as I know the modifiers don't work. A lot of people, such as myself, have been asking for the modifiers to work so that it would take a Master Smuggler to proficiently Feign Death on another player and even then wouldn't have a 100% chance. If it succeeds though, all combat stops. It's dirty and underhanded...just like the line describes and still leaves room for failure by chance....
Gawd...anywho, I hate Feign Death threads

I finally found a place that had a copy of Shaun of the Dead to rent...I'll watch that and laugh my frustrations away

I just tested it with my smuggler friend and stun didn't prevent it and out of about 20 times he never failed it. We didn't try KD but KD probably works because you cant do any combat moves while knocked down. But landing a kd on the first hit is very hard. You would have to kd then dizzy and both would have to work because one chance to feign and it's over.
