Thread: can smuggler be good at PVP?
Well I'm not sure about your build... a pistoleer should have a better idea but from my experience smugglers are great at pvp.
You just need some supplementary damage.
I am smuggler 0044 commando 0440 and master creature handler.
I use a rocket launcher and low blow. I think low blow is broken for knockdown but doesn't matter because rocket launcher has knockdown default.
So they're on the ground, my pet is on them and then I throw in a concussion shot and start looking for my next victim.
If they're real tough I might switch to a flame thrower and burn then as I walk past, but my pet finishes them off pretty quickly.

so far, i am 1-4-4-1 in smuggler, and my combat lvl is only 36....if i get master Pistoleer and master smuggler, will it be lvl 80? a double master combat profession grants lvl 80 status
also, with master pistoleer, and master smuggler, will that combo hold its own in battle? as in PVP?
last ditch is an awesome attack to have. when you are down to about 5% health, a nicely placed last ditch can hit for 6k!
very nice to get tells from your "victim" asking you what the heck just happened. ![]()

I went with Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, BH 0/0/0/4. Torso shot does nice damage without the near death experience that Last Ditch has.
Combat medics, bounty hunters, riflemen, melee... all toasted by my shiny new 563 dps renegade.
So yes, I think a smuggler can be good at PvP. My current other proffession is m. carbinner, but I didn't use anything out of it. Gunna pick up m. pistols tommorrow to check it out. So far I like what I see
That's the thing about the CU.. I expect to get beat down a lot, but I also expect to be able to make an impact on a battle. I haven't felt that way about master smuggler or even smuggler/pistoleer for a long time.
Start off with overwhelming shot to make the states stick easier, then Confusion shot(for possible dizzy), then Low blow(to knock em down), then critical shot(for hard damage), then panic shot(so when the get up they cant attack at full speed), then concussion shot(to root them), then critical shot until they are dead.
Of course these change according to the situation, like vs melee you want to ROOT em to start off with...but you get the basic point
