I believe, with the CU here, that it is time to put in effect an emergency Smuggler Alliance. We need to set slicing prices, collect resources, set spice prices, etc, and look out for eact other. Anyone with me? If people want it, i will post details. Please /sign this, as us Smugglers (capital S) need to band together in a time of crisis. Help me Smugglers, you're our only hope.

I am currently to my knowledge one of the cheaper smugglers on Corbantis but if a smugglers code is established I will follow the code. I am a team player and wouldn't want to throw the economics of the smuggling universe out so much.

Aha! found it! Here is the old post, verbatim...

Note: Most of this may change, but here is the exact post. I'm sure something usable can be derived from it:

Name:

Derigere Invisus: ... of The Unseen Order

Motto:

to balance power, share knowledge (or this can begin as a more smuggler-like motto)

Premis:

SWG is a fractured, non-story based, galaxy that weakly focuses on two sides, linear missions and easy to overcome obstacles.

Furthermore, most guilds are inherently weak in their structure, their strategies and their approach. Guilds are often ineffectual and rarely offer the physical or emotional support a member needs to get the most from the galaxy. The sad truth is that they are not set up for long-term success nor do they add enjoyment to the member’s experience. My conclusion, therefore, is that fractured galaxies and weak guilds make for boring, uneventful play. Under such circumstances, we might as well stay independent and chat with friends.

Overview:

We are the “other & unseen” force. We will take control. We are Derigere Invisus: of The Unseen Order. We will balance power in the galaxy and use the SWG rules as they were designed. That means using teamwork for success. In truth, this is the ultimate guild without a guildhall, if you prefer to think of it that way. The scope of our efforts will reach far beyond age, race, the GWC and beyond faction (although we will take steps to sway the fight from time to time). What ever it takes to maintain balance, we will level the playing field as a unified force.

Benefits:

  • The primary benefit is control. Those among you, who take satisfaction from taking control, playing a part, having knowledge, and moving in ordered steps towards completing your goals, will love this group.

  • The secondary benefit is power. This is power in terms of knowledge, resource collection, general acquisition, loot drops and purchasing. Inherent in our group is a system of declarations that call for the entire group to vote and act as a single unit. These declarations, if passed could result in a, virtually galaxy wide, ban or denial of services, on specific individuals or guilds (we will not break the EULA, but save this "probably temporary" response for the worst sexual harassment offenders, greiffers and complete morons who maliciously try to ruin other people’s fun). We will teach lessons if need be, then release them dazed and confused back into their small life. Our declarations could also be passed on purchases and acquisitions where we all but take a resource under our control or take over an economic sector, like AS or WS ... for a short time.

MEMBERSHIP:

Your membership in our group will not be hidden, but the details will be a secret. You get to keep your current status, guild, city, profession … everything. In fact we encourage you to play how you want and to have the most fun possible. Keep your public face the same as it has always been. It does not matter if you perma-grind, or not. It doesn’t matter if you spend 1 hour per week online or 80. The most diverse group from the most diverse guilds and professions will make us stronger. At times, involvement in our group could also help your friends and guild mates, but we ask that you keep “our” group knowledge secret.

We are of The Unseen Order who live in every city, have merchants in every mall, track the best resources, stock pile the best of everything (resources, chef and doc buffs, knowledge, tools, etc.). We offer support for quests and we come to help one another. At the very least we will direct you to the solution that solves your problem and help reduce the “damage” it takes to reach your goals. Then we fade into the landscape when we are done.

Membership will be handled through online registration with a followup interview. Acceptance into the Order means you will receive a special signet ring with it's serial number logged in our database. All of this is contingent on our own secure website, for which I can design, build, program and host free of charge. How's www.nosmugglerrevamp.com sound? Most likely we'll register the Order's name and information access is based on your security level within the organization.

LEADERSHIP:

People are confused about who really holds the power. As in all organizations … the further down the chain you go, the more important the role is within the organization. Therefore, the sole purpose of the leadership and the advisory board is to serve the “most clueless newbie” among us. That doesn’t mean we baby sit every noob or hold their hand through every difficulty. What we do is network. What we do is gather information. What we do is organize, plan and turn our goals into reality. Thereby ensuring powerful, knowledgeable individuals who, in turn, pass the knowledge and support to valued members.

RANKS: Description

The One: will actually become three key individuals, but known as The One for security and a touch of mystery. Keeps the culture and helps move things along.

The Advisors: information gatherers who distill the important points and pass those points up and down the command line.

The Masters: are the real movers and shakers … they listen to the advisors and make things happen.

The Chiefs: fill their role in the field and ask many questions both up and down the line. They know if the advisors and masters are doing their job because they are shoulder to shoulder with all of the “soldalis” on a daily basis.

Soldalis: means member of a secret society.

RANKS: Duty

Masters and Chiefs get things done. The advisors collect, clean & simplify data and pass out information.

The One:

The unseen one ... starts the whole thing... maintains the culture... rules ... helps all chiefs and masters set their priorities and the "order" of tasks, i.e. becomes the tie breaker in arguments. Therefore those with a clear vision and clear arguments get what they want first.

Galaxy Advisor:

Helps the Planet Masters organize their info. Looks into setting up galaxy specific locations, outposts, lot trades, resource farms, towns and any other temporary or permanent structure. Also regards what exists and looks for weak spots. Offers advice and reports findings.

Planet Master:

Keeps track of resident members, structures and affairs on their planet… and regards the Galaxy Advisor’s suggestions seriously. Keeps track of lots and planet inventory (resources, products, etc.) and all the "profession's general health".

Resource Advisor:

Verifies swgcraft.com info and looks for new stuff, organizes their resource chiefs ... researches the locations for resource farms and storage facilities... Galaxy wide.

Fauna Master: monitors animal spawns, scout and ranger networks like RIN. Recruits & hires hunters. Prioritizes hunt order & receives requests.

Flora Master: monitors organic spawns … Recruits & hires & receives requests.

Inorganics Master: minerals, radioactive etc. Recruits & hires

---these masterslook over the trade forums, swgcraft.com, planet merchants, etc. in addition to talking to experienced people about extinct resources... and correct value. This works with the resources the galaxy produces, not the "players" who need them

Quest Master:

Gathers info on galaxy specific quests, wp's, templates for success and loot drops ... tracks loot drop stats and looks to Master at Arms for bodies to go on quests. organizes priorities for special loot drops to help players... accumulation of schems, bones, resources, etc.

Craft Master: building, selling, promotions, and delivery (inventory management)

Healing Master: cares for the needs of all docs, medics, entertainers ...clothes, locations

Master At Arms: cares for the needs of all fighters ... armor, weapons, everything ...

--- these masters coordinate through the Resource Advisor & Resource Chiefs to keep data updated. Works with the players & profs directly

TITLES: (work in progress)

Soldalis: means, Member of a Secret Society.

We are all in this group. We all begin here, and this is your title if you hold no other position. What happens from this point is that you are officially tied into the network and you receive all of the knowledge bonuses and quest support. When you can take advantage of this knowledge and prove that you will be an asset then you get “buying” privileges, but you are encouraged to pay fair/full price. Because of all the benefits you will receive you will increase your professional and financial power. Likewise, you will do the same for the other members.

SUB RANKS:

Discipulus: apprentice

This subtitle can be added when you are enlisted to help a specific profession. As an apprentice you get faster access to your grinding resources, strategies and other encouragement. The master above you will see to your training and direct you the knowledge you need. Once again, there is no free ride but this opportunity is great for complete noobs and the relatively poor.

Dormio: the sleeper

The sleeper will join our group but remain largely inactive until they are ready. The sleeper knows they want in but they do not feel confident about living their public and our private SWG life at the same time. They will get general information but will not hear our best kept secrets.

EXAMPLES:

Here, I'll place some samples of how things should work, how certain relationships should play out, and answer questions, but not too many. If there is enough interest, then I'll launch the site and begin registeringyou "space monkeys" and get into the nitty gritty where the others can't eavesdrop.

  1. Members get to place their title in their bio ,such as "Master/Mistress of Naboo, Kauri... commissioned byThe Unseen Order" or "Faithfully servingthe Derigere Invisus. Indoctrinated on 10/10/04" and keep the signit ring in their inventory. The idea is to show glimpses of our secret but to never disclose fully. Even when we get known, not everyone will qualify for membership based on poor attitude or whatever. So the minor mystery and semi-exclusivity will work to our advantage.
  2. When a member leaves, their ring serial number is removed from the database and their security access is likewise adjusted on the website.
  3. The biggest services I'd like to provide, beyond knowledge, of course, would be grind resources, resource farms and storage. With a little administration we can take advantage of unused lots to maximize our output.
  4. [BIG FAT "WOW" GOAL HERE] When we get large enough we can moderate the economy. It is through our example fo teamwork and fairplay that will force others to either learn integrity or change professions.
  5. ...

Well that's the overview. Let's create something wonderful for us, our friends and the game. I'll review my notes and get my self ready for questions, but my next step is to moniter your responses and followup with examples of how each tier interacts, how we communicate, how the website will work, etc.

Honestly... I'm not slicing again until the revamp... not even the weapons that my master WS alt makes...

Spices are gonna increase in price a bit though. I'm at least doubling (maybe even triple) the prices to make up for all their time of uselessness if their value seems to have significantly increased.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Though I have spicing 4 already done. I didn't really sell much. I basically grinded it out in a couple hours using some macro I found. Had to get it done before the CU so I didn't have to use combat xp to get it. What was the going rate for spices on average anyways? I only sold a few things of shadowpaw and scramjet but I know it was way below market value.

The upper limit went up on the bazaar, recently, didn't it, so it would almost be unethical not to use that new upper price for Pixie crate, no?
