Thread: Hi im an old school BH, just wanna aska few questions.

Umm i recently realised this cu was turning out rather badly.I know they said that there would be balance, but as everyone is now MBH i tried my second favorite template, msmug and mpistol.
The combat viability of this profession is nearly non-existent. At first i thought it was just me. After hours and hours of duellingI came to the conclusion that its practically useless.Not only can anyone with MBH own you they can state you long enough to keep you from escaping.
I would just love to hear that im a moron and someone can actually beat an MBH template with this.. I seriously expected smuggler to be , umm not so sucky...I mean sure i can state them to hell if i wasnt dead.
So please someone post some success stories, i really dont think making MBH overpowered is balancing a game.
Hehe its funny really. all the old FOTM's are back.remember when bh and commando were the best? and rifleman and combat medic? well now they are all 4 the best, but at the same time :/

Well I have to say beating a MBH post CU is not an easy task but it can be done. Smuggler alone can not do it unless he lands that perfectly timed last ditch and then its lights out for the MBH.
I find my TKM/Smuggler holds well against the MBH. The key I have seen so far is keeping the BH stated which is not easy. However with TKM/Smugg/some pistoleer you can root,dizzy,stun and KD the BH. Sounds easy but its not. However if you can land and keep the states on the BH to affect his accuracy and movement you will own him/her.
To answer your question you are not a Moron you probably are just still thinking like a BH when it comes to tactics instead of thinking like a scoundrel.

i think this is true also.
you also have to remember that a smuggler is considered a "crowd control" and can really help a large group or raid party. Last Ditch is the best special in game (even though the timing is difficult to grasp and you need to be almost incapped)
if you think about it, a smuggler's only concern is surviving an encounter, and if that means rooting your opponent and then high-tailing it, then so be it

I have to agree with the others here, you're still thinking in terms of how the Bounty Hunter fights, and also possibly fighting against some post-CURB Bounty Hunters. Post-CURB Bounty Hunters are the game's One-on-One Specialists, meaning a Smuggler/Pistoleer will have to be very crafty to drop one.
Many of the people taking Bounty Hunter for this reason will be surprised in larger battles where they're not as effective, and probably blame everyone else because they don't want to take the blame themselves.

Msmug/Pistols is still being worked on last I checked. Concussion still just roots, a few other specials do nothing in particular. It may get better, it may not. You could try Squad Leader. Then you could get that intimidator gun everyone was foaming at the mouth over.

Until i found out it was certed for master squad leader at which point it became a non-existent weapon as far as im concerned.

i sorta miss the old days of being a desperado,rogue, master pistoleer. best template ever IMO...

wow your answers make sense, thanks! Heh,I guess dropping everythingI knew about something i've played for so long isn't easy
It is still very hard for me to escape from bh in duels, i would try to root but they root me after i root them and they get out of root first. Every thing i do to them toget away they can do to me to make me stay. And they outdamage me on top of that.
And whenI last ditch it incaps me instantly,I try to do it whenI have about 5 percent life left.
And yes i've tested it when i last ditch i just incap myself, i did it like 20 times in a row with varying levels of life.
I guess i'll end up MBH msmug Who knew i'd actually despise being a BH one day,I shoulda been a smugglerfrom the start.
