Usually i took pistols or rifles as a second master prof to complete my smuggler. Since both have also the Recon Armor certed, as the smuggler has too,i had no problem until now. Now i have taken another second profession and i have to see, that i have great penaltys wearing Recon Armor. I never before noticed, that the Smuggler gets no more bonuses towards reducing armor encumbrance other than in the novice box. Is this intended or a bug? I know pistoleers had an equal problem that has been fixed shortly after the CU if i am right.

Um, are you looking at the same skillboxes I am? Because I know my Underworld tree has Armor encumberance mitigations.

Uhm no, i was using the Prof Calculator from Bloodfin to look at the issue while our server is still loading. But the accuracy, weapon speedand movent penatly is for shure. I am Master Smuggler wearing a Tantel Set right now.
Edit:
I am now ingame and i compared the Smuggler armor mitigation bonuses to the ones from Rifleman. They are exactly the same. Yet i havethese problems while i did not have them on my RM altchar.

Well, the Bloodfin builder is really out of date, as I recall... I don't know why you're having problems, since at Master Smuggler/Master Shipwright, I have no problem with armor hindrance.

I found the problem, although i still don't know exactly why it was. I just put on another set of Tantel Armor and have no penalties anymore. Both from the same creator, both post CU craftet = strange. But at least i know i can stay with with current template.

Possibly the first set was sliced and increased the hindrance penalties.

Well this could be the solution. Though the protection stats looked pretty much like factory standart (7K/5K/6K) and i allready have destroyed the set to take a closer look at it.

If it got more than 6000 base you will get hindrance no matter what prof you have.

I'm curious about this, too, actually...my Master Smuggler has a rate of fire hindrance in his Rebel Marine armor...

You know what base is? It's the unlayered elemental protection of the armor. Adding layeres will not change the base only move some protections relative to it. If you got 6500 on all elementals I would be very suprised, not really possible. If you got 6500 on kin/energy it's because the armorsmith used primus layers. They add to kin/energy and remove from elemental but don't again move the base. A suit with 6500 kin/energy and 5500 elemental would have 6000 base (and no hindrance from a master).

very correct... armorsmith perhaps?
Anyway once you pass the 6000 base you incur hinderances that can not be superseeded by mitigations. So if it is near max armor and you slice for more you will create hinderances

They updated the char builder.
