Yes.

Now, slicing will only allow you to compliment a weapon, not suppliment it. Thus, if a weapon is at or beyond it's hard cap, it will actually tell you that you can not initiate a slice because the weapon is already near it's maximum ability (paraphrased).

Of course, that implementation is not without it's glitches either: it will give you this message if you so much as simply have a powerup in your weapon. If you remove the powerup, you will be able to slice the weapon.

The Handicapper General strikes again! (Not you, Taln2, but the new "upgrade.")

Well, it's actually not a terrible thing for smugglers, but it might piss off a few weaponsmiths. The very high cutting edge maxed-out resource weaponry can (potentially)be similar to lesser stuff that's sliced up. The trade off will be that the modifications will be viewed as contraband.

I'm hoping this fundamental game change will force some weaponsmiths to drop prices slightly, since the playing ground is a little more even.

I might be one of the few people that doesn't feel much sympathy for hardcore price-gouging crafters getting shafted in the CU. I feel bad for Billy-bob and Joe-blow Crafter, but for the most part crafters gouged the playerbase out the arse and made a lot of things completely unattainable to the casual and even slightly-less-than-hardcore audiences.
