First i have done smuggler over and over about 5-6 times now.. first time I became novice smuggler was about 3 weeks after release.

Anyway one thing I have seen over and over amoung the thousands of ideas that have cropped up in terms of smuggling is basically a delivery type mission system.

I got to thinking that the FS old man/village coding could be tweaked for smuggler missions.

Instead a delivery mission, why not have an old man like scenario.... Once you are a smuggler you will periodically be approached by a "customer". They give you a package (similar to the force chrystal) and tell you to await a contact. At any time once you accept the package you could be jumped by high level NPC spawns trying to take the package from you. Once your your "contact" shows up, you get a waypoint to a dropoff point and you deliver.

This idea may have come up before, but I thoguht the key here is that we could be doing what we normally do... slicing stuff.. hanging out in the cantinas... ect... No missions to do, ect. If you loose the package too many times you can be put on the BH terminals... if you dont want that then dont accept the package in the first place.

The key is you dont have any clue when you will be approached for a job, when you will get jumped, or when your contact is going to show up. You dont take any missions from a teminal.. they come to you. Smuggling is just somethign that becomes a way of life, not some lame delivery mission you do.
