Ok, so I'm in the market for a new laser carbine. I'm lucky enough to find 10 krayt tissues all of the same serial number. I speak with my weaponsmith and here if I put them all into a factory, I can get three carbines instead of 2. Hoping to increase my chances should a slice come up poor, I fork all 10 tissues over.
Smith performed wonderfully. 3.4 sp and 83-387 damage
Took my guns to a Master Smuggler. Three speed slices. Three. All three. As a BH/carbineer speed isn't much of an issue for me, but damage can mean success or defeat. I basically just pissed away 600k for guns I have no need for.
I know slicing is random, but come on, three in a row? Talk about crappy luck.

Had to laugh when I saw the title of this post.
Obviously the patron saint of Smugglers is Saint Jude Thaddeus!

If speeding capping would get fixed there would be now such thing as a crappy slice.

I can assure you that every member of the smuggler community has seen worse runs than that. I just sliced someone's armor and had 5 slices under 20%. I don't think anyone here hopes that a customer will be disappointed with a slice. Basically, we're sorry you don't like your guns, but they aren't worthless, they aren't ruined, they're no worse than they were, and we can't do anything about it anyway.

I have seen, and done far worse than that.... slicing crates of T21s... 11 speed slices in a row......
but then again... the next 4 were damage, so he was happy that he got 2 34% damage ones....
and the Patron Saint of smuggling.. GreenMarine has been oh so quiet for some time now.

I just got Carbines 3, so a speed slice on a Laser Carbine with that damage would be great for me!
Slices are just like Beauty, all in the eyes of the beholder...

There is no bad slice, only one that is not an improvement for the Speed Capped player. It is not the Smuggler nor the game's fault the player decided to speed cap himself.

My personal "record" is 14 speed slices in a row...

Well, at least your slicer used the clamps correctly and wasn't too drunk/tired to click the right wire

Yeah, I know it's all random and I'm not upset with my smuggler in the very least. It wasn't her fault, altho when she traded them back, she didn't say what the slices were, justsaid thanks for the businessand ran. I think she was scared I'd flip out on her
I also know they aren't worthless, but nobody's going to pay 200k a piece for them. I'll be lucky if my smith buys them back at his production costs, so yeah, I'm in the hole on this business transaction.
Taking averages into account, does this mean my next three slices will all be 34% damage? No? Didn't think so
