I mean I am 4/4/1/0. What does spending the 15 points for teh Spice tree and teh Master box really get me? The Skill tree only says I gain cheaper factional perks. Weeeee. Since I can't sell many of them to others(or so I have been told) what does this really get me?

Thanks

Shory

The master box also gets you an undocumented bonus to slicing (check the stickies for specifics), and it is possible to do a pretty nice business selling certain kinds of faction perks. Other than that, there aren't really any tangible benefits to mastering.

However, you DO get to join us as one of the dirtiest dudes in town, the finest forum community on the boards, and the general ranks of the unrewarded perseverers. I suppose that, as any type of smuggler, you've got all that anyway, but taking up the mastery of the profession really feels like a commitment to something a little more meaningful. Which may well be a load of BS.. but hang around a while and see what you think.

It get's you better slices, as in Raise's your lowest slice and also raise's you highest slice, the exact numbers are in the FAQ, also it gets you a cool title of Master Smuggler...

At this point I feel fortunate that they put forward enough effort to just name the skill boxes. Obviously, writing names anddescriptions is way too much for smuggler skills requires too much time devoted to the profession.

(had to change my sig for the big news)

Well, hey I tell ya I held off on becoming Master Smuggler myself. Since doing so, I get some serious respect.

Spices while not as popular does get you the the big 2. Muon Gold and Neutron Pixie. People love these things...even though they won't admit it.

The slicing bonuses are great as well... I hit my record high of 43% the other day. I find also that charging 10k for this service is rarely contested since I have become a Master. There are always a few.. like that Master Doctor the other day.. who charges 15k a buff session...stingy some people...

I usually tell people you can always get powerups but for about 1 or 2 k a peice.. all in all pretty cheap but you only get 100 shots with 33% or so... I can give you a bonus from about 20%-45% and it's permenant... so 10k is not a bad deal for that 5 million credit DE-10

Or even 90k for that 500k suit of armor...so they pay 590k for a suit of armor that is on average 30% better across the board...sounds about right to me anyway.

Don't take no flack because you offer a service no one else can.

And as for Faction perks....if you play your cards right... you can stay neutral .. spend 20k on an Imperial recruiter buy yourself up to Lance Corporal which is probably only another 20k I think.. maybe 40k. Now spend some money and get you some Storm Trooper Armor and sell it for a few million credits 2-3 million depending on how the pricing fluctuates with the GCW being so dynamic.

But hey if you need more convincing...by getting to Master Smuggler... You got style man...best thing to do is play off on that. You are among the elite, and you can walk instead of run around like everyone else. You will find people will be afraid to even send you tells sometime and call you "mister" or "sir" and no one will want to friendly duel you for 2 reasons, they have no idea what else you have mixed with your template and they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them.

You are also uncommon... The galaxy is full of TKMs, Swordsmen, and Riflemenmixed with Doctors and the all the various sort of crafters...but you are rare because your profession is misunderstood and yet all those other professions want what you can do and will go to the ends of the Galaxy to get to you because no crafter can make a weapon better than you can. That's right if a weaponsmith makes the greatest weapon in the galaxy, you can make it better. No one else can say that but you a Master Smuggler.

It's a proud and unique experience and its one I did not get from being good at PvP or Mastering Pistoleer. If I wanted to be good at PvP I would just do one of the Templates of the Moment and wammo. But to be a Master Smuggler everyone.. and I mean everyone comes to you because you got what everyone wants.

Those extra 15pts also gets you:

Shory

(Master Smuggler)

There's no greater reason. Everything else that comes along with that is just bonus fluff.
