Well, maybe this is not for everyone, but I am going to take the lead from another thread and say that SOE needs to be called to start answering for what this profession has gone through. I haven't posted much on the boards, but trust me when I say that I have been with this profession since 6-26-03 and I have been waiting for nearly 2 years for a revamp or at least some fixes.
What I have been looking for is not exactly what the CURB is due to address. What I wanted was a bit more atmosphere as far as what a Smuggler is supposed to be and supposed to do. I didn't want to play a Jedi. I wanted to play something like Han Solo or even Lando Calrissian in his early days. I don't smuggle anything. I modify equipment here and there, I make useless spices, and I shoot pistols. There is no underground element to any of this. There is no working with Hutts, there is nothing to the whole idea of space piracy, and the space expansion didn't do much to make the concept unique. Instead, it's Jedi this and Jedi that.
I'm sick of it. I'm so sick of it in fact that I am calling for a boycott of the expansion by Smugglers. Maybe it won't make a dent, but it can make a difference. We can boycott it and we can write as to why we are doing it. We can write articles for the fan sites and we can post the articles and hopefully there will be enough of a noise that SOE has to answer.
Remember GreenMarine and the whole idea of the revamp? Remember all of the promises to have us looked at? So what do we get? An FD nerf. And now, we get some $15 expansion that doesn't introduce much to the game that it needs. It doesn't need another planet, it doesn't need a Jedi ship, it doesn't need 100 new missions, it doesn't need Cybernetics and it doesn't need space mining. Well, the space mining would be nice, but that was something that was talked about for JTLS and frankly the ship, the cybernetics, and the space mining are things that should come through a content patch, not some cheapie expansion.
What we need is the Underworld fleshed out, finally and once and for all. No more excuses, no more delays. We need real content for the profession and we need it soon. And I am not going to pay for any more expansions for this game unless that expansion addresses this in some way, although this should all be frankly through a free content patch. I ask for others to join in the boycott and to send a message to SOE, small as the message may be, that we are not going to stand for this and that our profession deserves the attention that has been promised to it for nearly 2 years. Cheap little expansions designed to sucker people into buying this game amid the Episode 3 hype is not what is going to get the numbers of this game going. What's going to get the numbers going and getting players to return is to see a sign that SOE cares about its promises to its players and is interested in providing unique content that addresses parts of the Star Wars Universe that have never been fully addressed. And this starts with the Smuggler Revamp and Underworld expansion.

Can't. Obsessed. And I don't HATE the idea...I'm just disappointed at it's lack of ambition.

their lack of ambition can be summed up in the recently added story arc. um how unoriginal can we get people. ontop of that it seems to be bugged.

Actually, I have no plans at this time to buy it. If it has something that makes it REALLY worth buying, then I'll get it.
Honestly, I plan on at least waiting until I see how the CURB goes and more than likely waiting for the Smuggler Revamp before I buy anything other than an Underworld expansion from them, and I do have a fundamental problem buying an Underworld expansion if it's nothing more than what was supposed to be in the game at launch.
To put it simply, I'm not sinking anymore money into this game other than monthly fees until they show me something special. I'm at the end of my rope. If the Smuggler Revamp is not all it should be after all this time, then it will be the end of my SWG (and more than likely MMORPG) experience. Because of this, I'm very very hesitant in purchasing any more of their products.

It'll be Dathomir on Life Day. It won't suck or anything. It'll be worth 25 bucks. But it won't be the great idea of a Crime Expansion that I'd pay double if not triple for.

Actually, unless they come up with some really fantastic news about it, it's worth about ten bucks to me. Twenty five puts it on par with JTL and almost even the cost of the game at this point.... and from what I've seen, it's nowhere near that.

Eh. Like I said...I'm a fanboi. Can't help it. I like the idea of being able to go to Kashyyyk. And I'm hoping at some point for Ryloth...but good luck on that right?

The thing is, I really would like this stuff. It's almost a matter of principle for me at this point.
I'm a very loyal customer, but when I get screwed with, I'm a meanSOB. For example, to this day I won't even set foot in a Walden Books because of an encounter with an employee of theirs. When I wrote to their corporate offices they sent me all sorts of coupons and stuff and I just threw them away. Included with the letter I had copies of reciepts showing that I bought on average four books a month. Now in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really hurt their bottom line, but I stood on my priciples.
I've got no problem with anyone who wants to buy this expansion. Right now though, for me, I don't want to give them any more money than I have to in order to keep playing. If they don't include something spectacular in it, it's just not worth the money to me right now, especially if we don't see some serious love soon.

Boycotting the expansion wont cause anything to happen. SOE could care less.
Though I plan on buying the expansion. Though we don't have a Smuggler revamp,I do still enjoy SWG. Just because we don't have the revamp yet, doesn't mean the game is completely ruined for me.

I'm a 'fanboi' as much as anyone actually but I don't like getting treated like this from anyone for ANY reason. Yeah, boycotts don't do much but then our dollars are all we have to impress them with. Two years of this hasn't impressed them with anything apparently so boycotts can't actually do anything LESS.
I won't buy the expansion until I hear something definite about a Smuggler Revamp with SUBSTANCE.
I also won't see the new movie. I'll wait till it's out on DVD and even then I'll just borrow it from someone I know. I'm not going to reward them with one more of my dollars than is absolutely necessary.
I'll give them one month after this mess goes live to hear about our revamp. If nothing is forthcoming then it's divorce time for me and Sony...and I mean me and ALL of Sony and LA; every last thing they produce. I have my limits and I just made this promise to myself and have every intent of carrying it out. There isn't anything they produce that I can't get elsewhere so it won't be any skin of my back.
I pay for entertainment and I'm not entertained.

Understand something here folks, I'm not exactly boycotting. I'm choosing to save my money until I'm convinced to do otherwise. Right now I plan on not buying for two reasons:
1. I see nothing worth paying the amount that they're charging for the expansion at this time.
2. My decision to continue to play the game depends greatly on two things at this point. The timeline for the Smuggler Revamp, and the quality of that Revamp.
Now should the factors involved in either of these two things change, I may change my mind. Right now though, I see little reason to give any more money than the monthly fee to SOE.

Sorry, I'll be plugging the coordinates to Kashyyyk into my nav computer the moment the expansion comes out. A Smuggler has to go where his potential markets might lie...
