I am not surprised that we are getting this nifty expansion,...the marketing department has excellent timing. We should be grateful for this, with all the revenue it will generate along with other merchandise such as pencils and erasers that don't erase they may decide put out even more Star Wars related games.
And because we all know how time consuming it is to make a whole new planet, all that extra content (I thought the new guns/armor were for the CURB,..) of course there isn't time to really work on a Smuggler revamp. And really, since Smuggler is simply a vocal minority and this revamp is for the "good" of the entire game the Smugglercommunity should just wait more. 2 years in terms of a galaxy are nothing, therefore we have waited maybe .2 seconds if you look at the big picture. And the more we look at this big picture, in a Smuggler perspective, we can clearly see it is shaped like a large stick. Engraved on this stick is a phrase, cryptic to those who do not understand but a powerfull message to those that do. Engraved on the stick is the phrase:
"Like a rented mule,....."

First of all: excellent post. This post is like a 100 year old bottle of wine/liqiour.
Second: I don't get what "like a rented mule,..." means, but lean me in the right direction if my gut feeling would be indeed what it means.

Sure thing:
We as a profession are like a mule, and we are getting the short, very painful end of the previously mentioned stick![]()

Meh! Silly me! I was under the impression that a bigger stick in our case would cause more pain...

I thought I read somewhere that they wouldn't create a new planet for an expansion. They did say that they would revamp smuggler. Kinda makes you think...

Quote from the LA website.
So in other words you have to pay to get the CURB??? Thats how I read this.
If thats the case way to go SOE force everyone to buy the expansion.

You don't have to pay for the CURB. They couldn't do that or all the players that chose not to pay wouldn't be able to fight.
I think their wording is just FUBAR.

Of course everyone will get the CURB, they are just pushing them out the same time. It is bad wording.
My only hope is they arent going to rush the CURB, just so they can get it and "Wookiees" out in time for Episode III, there is no doubt in my mind they will be pushed to live at the same time.
We can only hopeif these 2 things do indeed come out on the 5th, then the non-combat revamp is next, and it gets a sizable dev team assigned to it.

Oddly enough the IGN artical about the expansion mentioned that players would DOWNLOAD this...so it doesn't really seem like an expansion..rather than a large patch

All expansions are available as a download. JTL was a download to me, although I bought the disc, I never used it, I entered the key and the the launchpad downloaded JTL.
