Thread: Just mastered smuggler ,now I need some advice on pricing

The first thing I did was check around all the shopping areas to se ehow much sliced items, and spice was so I have a general idea of what it is worth.
Now its early so pardon me if my math is wrong
Spice
If I buy resources at 2cpu its costs me 90 credits per muon , or pixie. A factory crate holds 25 so thats 2250 per crate. The average price of spice on my server is 6k a crate. That is a 3750 profit. Is there anything else I should be figuring into the cost. If so please tell explain how that would be added to the equation.
Slices
On my server damage/ffectiveness slices are prefered. If I want to sell mainly these types of slice the cost would look somthing like this.
I pay 40k per T21. For 404max T21's anything under 500 wont sell for much if at all. It takes me 4 slices to get a prefered 23% + damage slice . Assuming that 4 previous slices wont really sell. I'd have to sell the T21 for 160k to break even. Then I'd have to figure in slice %. And mark it up from there.
What do you charge for slicing weapons? Personally if it isnt a friend or a total noob. I really want to rip them off just because the annoyance factor. Yesterday when I masterd I wore my title proudly until I could not take it anymore. Right now its free for a friend and 3k if I dont know them. However 3k per slice, if the person is annoying and has alot of stuff , dosnt really seam worth it.
Now I know it dosnt cost a whole lot to slice, but I was thinking of charging more for specialty weapons. Say aklay ,nym, geo or krayted weapons. I was thinking 1k per % if its the slice type they want. Soley because slicing these weapons is in high demand.

What Server are you? I'm on the Bria server. So our prices maybe a little different.
For me I charge 5k per crate of anything I make(Muon, pixes, clamps,ect.) I've been told by ALOT of people that I'm one of the FEW who sell them at reasonable prices.
For slicing I charge 7k per slice. Ifthe weapon slice goes UNDER not at but UNDER 15% it is free. For a full suit of armor I chrage for 8 peices. Give them the last one as free. (Costomers like freebees 
) For containers I charge 5k per item. I also say if you see a novice smuggler they would slice it for free most likely. ( Got to help the fellow smuggler out )

I put all of this in my bio so I would just sit by the starport, Itype everyso often saying Slicing for 7k per item Send a tell to Solidous Krazo if you want one.( I don't have a macro because once it becomes to muchit will become spam.) When the costomer comes I always say take a look in my bio if you want to see the rest of my policy and they usually do andmost of the time agree. Some don't but you can't please everyone.

Most servers want dmg/eff slices including mine. If you trying to sell them while you are slicing out in the public it won't happen. I would just charge a flat rate when your in the public. When you are selling sliced weapons on ( If you have one) your vendor I would go with the prices you are suggesting. I don't do much with the selling weapons on my vendor so if any other master smuggler would know what the prices should beI would like to know as well.

I charge 5k per crate of spices. It doesn't fly off the vendor, but it sells.
I charge 10k per slice, discounting the total price slighty for full sets of armor. If I don't really want to slice, it's an inconvience, or the person is just a pain in the butt, my price goes up to 20k.

agreed flat rate rules all
otherwise you'll spend half your time trying to figure out the math.
5k per crate of spice may seem like a big profit but it does not sell all that much. The demand plays a big roll at that price it is both valuable to the consumer and profitable for the smuggler because its likely you will not have to make it often. A full batch will last a bit but I don't use vendors either.
Slicing 5k per slice. Not because I think its worth it but because I dont wanna run around under cutting others. I honestly hate slicing but I'll do it if asked. If you think about the costs its really in expenisive to slice as long as you find yourself an armorsmith and weaponsmith friend
Faction is my big money makerI dont charge alot either 100 credits per fp for transfer and I go very close to min on faction perks. Go twice a week buy in bulk and not a big deal. The new system is very condusive to lower costs as it takes alot less time and you don't need another smuggler anymore
Plus if you think of it as every npc = 1500 credits (15 fps) and every player as 2000 credits (20 fps) it puts a big perspective on it

How do you work slicing deals with weaponsmiths /armor smiths
My intention was to buy from a WS/AS slice and sell them on my own. Howver I know that some Smugglers slice in bulk for AS/WS and the AS/WS sells them.

I charged a flat rate when I did slice simply because I'm not going to take the 'credit' for random slice results.
Never pay yourself for what you can make the customer pay for.
But I gave up all non-smuggling actions...which means I don't do much of anything but farm space loot for cash now. At least there's more action involved that standing around a starport hawking slicing. *rolls eyes*
Now that I don't slice anymore I don't have to wear a pack to carry all that crap, don't have to have a factory set up to make tools and I don't have to run around finding all those expensive high quality resources to make quality tools... *wink*

One other smuggler here had the right idea a while back...
Slice for free that way the customer can't get pissy about bad slices. Then charge 10k 'handling fee' to give them their weapon or armor back.
