Thread: Slicing...I'm Baffled..yet again...

Last night I sliced a bunch of weapons for my vendor while sitting in my house..Our city Specialty is research center..I rarely spend time here or do much slicing so I'm just noticing this.. I sliced about 20 items last night with a consistancy I've never seen.. 2 of 20 items below 30%. a 25 and a 27..
I've been a smuggler for over a year now and have never heard of what I'm about to ask either.. Is it possible because the smuggler is a crafter of spices.. That the crafting bonus provided by research center is carrying over to slicing..while within city limits?
I have never seen such consistant slicing .. Please shed some light on this for me.

I would say it's highly doubtful it had any effect, but that is quite a run of slicing. I haven't heard any slice testing done in research centers, but until someone slices 50-100 weapons there and presents their results, you've got to assume that was just a run of good luck.

Me, I about sh!t my pants last night because I sliced 3 Tenloss Rifles for a guildie and got 3 damage slices in a row. a 22% a 28% and a 30%. I don't think it's cause I live in a Medical Center.
Although, I always seem to get really good Damage Slices while riding on my swoop on the way to a dungeon (Geo, Nyax, etc.)
It's so random, you think you start to see non-random patterns. It's because your brain is contantly trying to attach order to chaos, which is why so many refuse to believe slicing is totally random.

Thanks guys..I believe in the randomness and that's exactly why I was so shocked..just wondering if anyone else may have experienced this..

GreenMarine stated clearly that the ONLY thing that affects slicing outcome is slicing skill.

My city is a Research Center as well. My slices are usually under 30, with the exception of encumbrance slices, which stay under 40.
The RNG hates me with a passion. Nevermind that everything that's Krayted ends up speed sliced. I really want that new slicing system ASAP.

well i just sliced 3 complete suits of armour and got 27 encumberence slices the guy was nearly crying by the time i finished

...thats nothing.
I got a 16% 19% and then a 17% speed slice all in a row......I realized that this is why I dont slice.
HI Im a master and getting less that HALF of what I should be getting onm a slice. 16%? out of 35%? gawd....
