Thread: Does anyone see the current slicing situation changing anytime soon?

I have 2 very high damage kryat scatters I would like to get sliced, but I was wondering if I should wait for a while or just suck it up and expect a 5% slice.

if they really are high end don't expect a big slice at all.
These are the caps... slicing can't go past it (take from the weaponsmith forums)

My advice to anyone looking to get a a high quality weapon sliced (i.e. something you'd consider using the no-decay device on), to wait until the new slicing system, as it will allow us to customise the weapon to a greater extent and if done right won't get you a negative result!... as for run of the mill weapons, well, ultimately it's up to you, but you might aswell get a slice now and then get another weapon and have that sliced under the new system when it comes into being.

i thought we were getting the Slicing revamp with the next big update?
but there's no word on it in the Publish 17 notes on TC.
any word on what the deal is with that Wes?

Well, simply, 17 isn't really "the next big update". They said after they stabilized the CU and RotW, they'd look at the professions one by one, Smugglers first. 17, as far as i can tell, is cheifly wrapped around that "stabilizing" notion. You'll notice most of the notes are all things we got with RotW, but were not expansion material(the personal light enhancement, new schematics, etc). therefore, consider Publish 17 to be "The RotW publish". We're probably looking at 18 for smuggler stuff to start.

i am very glad they finally added functional multi-passenger vehicles into the game!
i'm just chompin at the bit for something, anything, Smuggler related.

"Soon" you ask? Yes, Soon (TM).
They waved their Soon Wand (TM) at Smugglers right around launch almost two years ago.
