Thread: AN idea for a new expansion or something

I have given this matter great thought, and I think I have found what bothers me about jedi.
I think the flaw in this game is that while in about two years we have recieved 2 expansions and some interesting publishes, the game has essentially become stagnant. What I mean by this is look at many other MMO games. Every year or so they raise the level cap. I think maybe it is time we do the same. now just adding more skillpoints would ruin the game. Players would just master every profession and that would be that. All of us would be master everything 1 man armies. Look at the current endgame. We master our profs and do everything, the only way to get stronger is to go jedi...
Jedi are very powerful and as much as I will be flamed for this, they deserve it. They went through the grind and did something alot of us do not feel like doing.
What this does though is create a "Third tier" above the rest of the professions in the game. And jedi have the ability to grow from padawan(newbs in the temple in ep 3) all the way up to master (mace windu, obiwan, luke, etc) furthur widening the gap between the classes.
I really think that sony needs to address this by adding a new tier for the rest of us. As it stands we begin the game as nobodies(extras in all the cities) and master our professions and become walk on speaking roles ( the bh chilling with vadar in the empire strikes back, the smugglers hanging out in cantinas, maybe even lando), but for us there is no way to define ourselves to the level of Boba Fetts or Han Solos.
The proposal of a new tier of pvp (elite) where it would be people who were jedi or wanted jedi combat could pvp, thus leaving special forces free for tier 2 professions, brought up an issue. In this elite combat it is still tier 2 vs the jedi, which just isolated the problem instead of getting rid of it. While many regular pvp folks could be happy, there is a chance the jedi(who both pay the same fee, and have invested alot of time into the game) would be left without any viable pvp.
If there is going to be an elite pvp system, why not let us regular smuggs/bh/rm/sl become elite?
Many players do not want to be jedi just because they have a love for playing as a smuggler, or gunslinger, or commanding troops. Just because it is a different playstyle does that mean they shouldnt be allowed to get to a jedi skill level? I propose a tier 3, where in a way similar to jedi, we can select paths that make us elite and truely gods of our professions. Make it as much of a grind as jedi, but also give us the big reward of new skills and content. Let smugglers focus on their skills(some good at escape, others at smuggling [revamp pending] others combat oriented), Pistoleers choose their path ( do they adhere to being gunslingers and be technicians who are excellent marksman, or do they go down the path of a showman and focus on wild, crazy, amazing, but high damage low accuracy combat), Squad leaders accel (do they specialize in small group combat and have special abilities that reflect that, or do they become great leaders of men that allow them access to raid groups and larger squads?), and let bounty hunters become boba fetts and whatever else they do.
These will be hard, and require as much work as a jedi profession, but once earned they should be on par with the jedi. In elite pvp it would be a clashing of legends. Epic battles where the greatest heros of professions would have decisive battles, while the tier 2 people fought, driven by the inspiration of their elite. Boba fett and jango were amazing at combat and went toe to toe with jedi ( and fett wouldnt have died like a Bich if lucas relized how popular he would become), Han and Chewie were more than a match for everyone they met, and the imperial and rebel commanders were legends in their own right. Let the regular players have a chance to distinguish themseves.
I personally think some sort of adaption of this idea would be the next evolution for our beloved game. I would go so far as to but it as an expansion because I really think this is something the game needs to address.
