Thread: a thought on spice use

Ok I'm irritated at this new spice "fix" bumfudgery so here's my rant.

Chef foods have a food and drink bar that fill up as you consume.Couldn't the nerfherders make a seperate bar for spice, called tolerance or somthing along those lines? Each spice could either have a set filling value or maybe a semi random value (i.e. 15-25 filling). Also it would be possible to go over you tolerence lvl (hence the random value, it makes it a bit of a gamble) and if you do maybe you get hit with states such as stun, or blind, or even incap. I think this would more accuratly represent how drugs usually work. Most of the power junkies I knew in High School stacked "spices" and a few timeswent over the limit resulting in RL "state" effects.

dont nerf the ability to stack but yea i sorta agree the downers not all that what it should be when your that spiced out. but when you stack multiple spices you get downers at different times things start to get bad during a fight as of now, because the downers from say shadow paw and giggledust kick in faster messing up your spice stack you got going even tho pixie or muon is still up, those lower spice downers are negating the higher ones which are still in effect...


Your lower spices expire more quickly but have the same-20% to all stats- samelike the higher ones I beleive. And the downers add up. I've have moments of glory when spiced in the CU and I've had moments of total humiliation from it.


Dont nerf the stacking, but yea, I agree. Maybe put in some more penalty on downer even if its just 5-10 seconds longer but I like the blind idea. Stun idea is somewhat redundant as doesnt stun nowslow your action regen rate well spice downer already does that but yea dizzy or blind state during downer sounds kind of... realistic. I wouldnt mind seeing a lowered movement rate for that period of downer also. Hell throwus in some halucinations on thedownersalso, pinksnorbals with wings or something..


Dont nerf the stacking just penalize it a bit more IMO, It doesnt feel right to do that much spice and then just gag it off for a simpleminute. I'm not for 10 minute downers- HELL NO. But I think they should be longer than 20-30 seconds like more like 45 seconds. Don't nerf the stacking because that adds value to ALL spices now, not just muon and Pixie..


For now I'll keep onspicing. If they penalize itok.. if they dont I'm for that too. I agree they need to make it more of what it is tho- a drug with consequences.

I'd still like to see some of the more creative spice ideas go in. I remember one that actually changed the contrast of your UI so you really couldnt see. The tolerance ideas great though, I've always thought something like that would make sense. I know plenty of druggies, and not all of them are smart enough to know their limits - another thing you might add is, when you mix spices, the amount of tolerance they take up could increase/decrease. Some drugs dont mix well, others do (ever taken dayquil and robotussin at the same time? I swear it was an accident, butthat was a great day). So much could be done with spices, its not even funny - peaks, addictions, you name it. Maybe spices with a downer you could look forward to? I've heard glitterstim is supposed to stimulate the mind, maybe you could gain xp faster on it. No matter what, i really hope with our revamp comes more spices, hopefully with interesting side effects. If theres one thing this game needs to make it more star warsy, its probably variety, and being able to tolerate more spices would really help that.

I think, that they should add it so that for every extra spice you use, your speed and accuracy go down like 30 %... That way, yes you will begodly on stats, but your gonna' be so f***ed up on spice, that you can't hit barn door (due to the swirly flashy colors), and you can't tell minutes from hours (making a trigger finger useless). And maybe after you hit 100% of reduction, you will incap, and just lay there for a while, with like a30 minute downer.
