Thread: TKA and Smuggler good combo?

Hey guys right now I feel and an idiot cuz yesterday i capped out my pistol xp out 1.2 mil so i needed to put 450k of that into ditryfighting 4, i also had my 120k combat xp ready for spicing 4. so neways since i capped out pistol xp and was out in the middle of nowhere on tatooine i decided to work on my unarmed xp since i was planning on becoming a TKA to accompany my smuggler profession. So i make novice TKA and get a crap load of unarmed xp, I ask where to find the nearest TKA trainer and go talk to him, I train novice, and then I notice that I Can train another skill (not realizing this is the 4th tree in the TKA template, and it requires combat xp) I'm an idiot for not doubling checking but I used up all my combat xp putting it into TKA rather then spicing 4. SO my first question is...Is this a good combo in the first place? second question is....if i surrender those 2 TKA boxes I put the combat xp into, will i get it back? third question is (well rather a request) share a story about a stupid move you made so I don't feel like such a knucklehead

There's no way for you to get that XP back. Personally, I dont think its a very good choice.

It depends what you want to do. In PVE its a great combo for soloing and group combat your a decent tank (low damage tho) that can switch and crowd control if needed. Very Useful.


PVP your low damage output can be a bother but your abilty to load states up on folks makes you very valuable in big battle and you are pretty tough so you can go to to toe with any one for a short time.


From a roleplay point of view it makes more sence than alot of combos for Smuggler since as a TKM you beast weapon is your barehands so thats pretty easy to slip past security.


The main weakness is low damage in group pve it means you have to work to keep aggro (yes you want to keep aggro your tougher then most of the rest of your group and if they are dead they are not doing damage) I think the taunt cool down timer is a bit to long to help keep the aggro on you but if you work with your group and they time their debuffs and nukes right its a very useful skillset.

I did this template for my Starsider Smuggler


Mainly for Roleplay, I didnt want to be donning Armor for a fight. I like it alot, I have GREAT Defense, also, it compliments the new changes to CONC shot VERY well.


CONC your target, put your weapon away, COB and close to mele range.
