I have some Uber Recon Armor with ADK on every piece.

The only thing I do is hunt jedi when I wearthis armor (if that makes a difference).

I have been told that I need have all the pieces "Armor-Break" sliced.

I do not know what this means.

Can someone explain to me what an "Armor Break" slice is?

Is there a disadvantage to having this done?

Are there different levels of this slice?

Are there any components needed that allows a smuggler to get a better slice?

I thought this would be the forum to ask. Thanks for you input.

an "armor break" slice reduces the amount that your armor is reduced when someone uses the /armorBreak melee move on you, up to a total of 75% reduction in armor break effectiveness

basically its a counter to the /armorBreak

So if I understand you right, if I have ADK on all the pieces, then an armor-break slice

will do nothing to help me because the condition never goes down anyway?

Or does /armorbreak just render my armor ineffective for a short amount of time.

In which case during PvP, /armorbreak could hurt and this slice would be effective.

So does a Jedi have a /armorbreak move?

NO armor break reduction slice will reduce the effectiveness of your opponents armor break skill.....it has nothing to do with your armor breaking in the literal sence, Durring a fight some melee profesions have the skill to "armor break" temporaily reducing the effect of your armor, an armor break slice will reduce his'her ability to do that to you but it is a seperate modifier in each hit location, so say you wanted to protect your chest , legs and head from armor break you need those three peices sliced any where from tier one AB slice (granting 25% reduction in opponents armor break skill) to a tier 3 AB slice (granting 75% reduction in opponents armor break skill)

and yes i thinkjedi do have an armor break skill not sure where though

So wouldn't it be to my advantage to have every piece tier AB sliced giving me

a 75% reduction in opponents armor break skill?

If I do this, what is the disadvantage? There must be some sort

of trade off?

No trade-off no disadvantage, the only disadvantage is it either cost a lot or you have to find the components to slice a 75% armor break which is very hard to find, but other than that, it has no disadvantages (( And yes jedi do have a Saber Armor Break skill, Which is why its very smart to have this slice))

Wonderful information. You have been very helpful.

I hate to sound noobish, but are there any other slice types I need to consider

before I go forward with this project? Also, what compenents are needed

to get the 75% armor break type slice? This way I can start searching

the trade forums to get what I need if my smuggler buddy does not have

them.

No , he needs shock absorbing padding for the 50% and micro reactive plating for the 75%.
