Thread: I know I am not alone in this serious pain in the arse, but do we have a DEV answer?

I do a LOT of slicing. Making great creds. But I have noticed the MOST serious bug we have in our system is that for the most part, I can't slice items I am not certified for. At lest that is the conclusion I have come to. Now is this on purpose so that people have to find different smugglers and there is no monopoly in our industry? Or is it as I suspect and just a serious bug?


Nothing worse then making time for clients, meeting, and not being able to slice, not because I don't have components, I have tons, but simply because if I don't have the certification for their gear, I get the slice option, but no dialogue appears.


It's not like I am trying to use it, I just want to slice it.


Sorry if this is posted somewhere here, I don't have time to filter through all the non relevant posts. Thanks for any info, even if my post is redundant.

I haven't had any issue with slicing weapons I'm not certified for. Could it be the weapons you're getting the slice option for but no slice action are weapons that were sliced pre-Pub 19?

I haven't noticed this. I sliced the Totchee (sp?) pistol last night, which is certed for Squadleaders.

I thought maybe it was the pre-pub 19 issue, and for the most part it's consistent. I also just noticed this lovely tidbit. Slicing used to give 250 pts xp, which could be used for FSXP for Senses. Anyway, took a friend to the village to cash in their slicing xp. They are a respec smuggler, who has helped me do a lot of slicing. 0 xp. So the option is still there to convert slicing xp, but smugglers do not get slicing xp. How interesting is that?


I will try testing on the pre pub 19 weapons and see if that is what it is. I really thought I had it narrowed to non cert stuff. Thanks for the quick feedback.
