Smuggler Archive
Thread: I read...
I read...
...in here, i read about the smuggled pie from the break room fridge, the jovial exchange of a BH stiffing a smuggler (yet wanting his sliced Launcher back), the smuggler raids on the jedi forums and the laughter echoing into the night. I have finished a marathon (IRL) and the smuggler community was there for me the day after, when my legs were not. I have killed an ancient kryat, a gorax, and a bad relationship w/ a gorgeous woman, all with the help and guidance of the people in this community.
I have helped a few n00bs w/ their homework in here, played bouncer to a few rude BH, never flamed, and rarely been burnt in return. But, my posting has always been secondary, to my reading.
It is the pillars of our community whom have funneled their resources into this library called Smuggler. They have lended us much more than their sharp tongue, or cruel wit... they have given us their time.
Though I am a veteran in the game, and in these forums, I am not close with everyone here. If you are reading this now, I likely have not met you IRL or hunted with you. But, just as an actor recognized by a role once played, I recognize a few of our notorious for the knowledge they have shared. Keck, Saarek, Angus, and Spinning, thank you for spending the most valuable of resources with this community: your time.
I realize others are leaving, but it is these four whom have forced laughter and Cherry Coke out my nose. In my eyes, they have been the smugglers that SWG was made for, the cynical sages, well worn, like a varnished oak bar in an 800 year old Irish pub. And, though you may wreak of rum, and tears, you have helped many a lost soul find the warmth of this tavern, and possibly added a smile or two to a bland work week. To you I raise my glass...

I agree 100%. The Smuggler community is the best there is. I just wish it weren't getting ripped apart due to lack of attention from the Devs.
The one that's really going to get me from the latest fallout is Spinning. Spinning's been here since the dawn of time (I can remember posts of his in the original smuggler protest thread), and in all that time he's consistently never bought into anything. Now and then when I've been in a good mood he's seemed like the lovable crank, funny but unable to give things a chance, but then, a few weeks or months later, it turned out he was right, and I've appreciated him all the more.
Gonna miss you guys.

You really stepped up around the time Dreven and Caylin left. When you're IRREPLACEABLE that means you CAN'T LEAVE, you jerk!
His body was just laying there... middle of the dune sea... poor guy.
