I just recently picked up smuggler and have been wearing the novice smuggler tag and i have had a sudden increase in people wanting to duel me 
Having TKA and CH i find this quite amusing as i just stand around with a rancor hidden around a corner and wait for some muppet to duel request me then i just KD them and call the rancor and watch them whine about me using pets and being a novice smuggler lol
What is it about the 'novice smuggler' tag that invites duels ?

People thinks it means an easy kill to raise thier combat rating.

When I get a duel request with my smuggler tags on, I accept. Then I put on the Krayt Flamethrower and do my best to ruin someones day, or at least send them the to medcenter for the next hour. I die/lose in the end anyway, but at least I get the joy of seeing all the hate /tells right after I clone.

Question: What does the Combat Rating do? I have a CR of about 1.2k but I have no idea what it means.

people know that smugglers are weak, i say just ignore them completely and have them **edit** at you callin you a coward and all that crap 
you just know in a month or two they will ask you to slice their weapon, so why not

People actually wanting to duel smugglers? Why, lol?
I mean think about it: DIRTY FIGHTING.... We're not very strong combat-wise, but we make up for it by being just downright despicable (sp?) in fighting. Come on... Low blow?

Yeah, panic shot and last ditch aren't really that low down, but the big kicker is feign death. Who wants to have a grand battle that ends with your opponent falling incapped and then... what... NO DB?... Why you dirty low down... "You're cheating!"

im a master rifleman and i get random duels aswel? dunno why but i usually showem what riflemans all about
but i wouldnt say smuggler is weak....tags mean didly and fools that duel out randomly need to have their asses kicked!

Aren't duels no DB usually?
anyhow, it's usually me that's asking to duel lol...but I only ask "a" competitor in spatial, or ask good pvp'ers to duel

Iam a novice smuggler and wear the tag but no one wants to duel me couse i just master commando but dropped it so it seems they still think iam a commando lol

This thread reminded me a bit of the "good ol' days" where smuggler's were some of the most uber in PvP. That was a long time ago... For those that have been around, here is an oldie but a goodie.

Basicly put, its a rating of how highly ranked you are within the game's PvP system. The higher the rating you have, the higher the rank. Consider this, a Master Marksman or Master Brawler can take out a Pure Novice Smuggler, quite possibly a pure Master Smuggler. Why? Cause we only get specials, no mods at all as Pure Smugglers.
Do this: Become a Master TKA in addition to being any level in Smuggler. Wear the Novice Smuggler title.
Idiot has challenged you to a duel.
You have brutally slain Idiot in combat.

If someone randomly duels you, and they aren't wearing a novice tag, then you can likely bet that they *will* deathblow. So, if you get a random duel from someone you don't know, deathblow. They will soon learn not to randomly duel people.
