Hola, Juzza (soon-to-be Master Smuggler) here and just wanted to relate a real life anecdote here:
I recently received the "Smuggler Treatment" in real life too!
The setup -- My sister gets married and the DJ doesn't show. I (the smuggler) call the DJ place and
calmlyexplain the situation -- 2 hours later a replacement DJ shows and barely saves the day.
Aftermath -- My mom wants a refund and prompts me to call DJ place.
Week 1 - I call friendly DJ and a full refund is promised.
Week 2 - I call understanding DJ and woops he forgot, Check will be mailed.
Week 3 - I call and understanding DJ is in the hospital and the other guy is on vacation -- call back next week.
-- At this point I realize that I'm getting the "Smuggler Treatment - a.k.a. the Red-Headed Stepchild Treatment" not only in SWG but in real life too! Deja Vu!
Week 4 - I call compliant DJ who "promises" the check is being mailed that day.
Week 5 - I call and compliant DJ now hands me over to arrogant boss who whines about having to pay the refund - but ultimately says the check will be mailed after threats of calling the BBB.
Week 6 - I call arrogant boss turned super-jerk who now says "look I promise to mail it, stop calling."
Week 7 - Call super-jerk and explain to him that I'm a Teras Kasi Master and that I'm p!ssed. I'm calling the BBB, the Empire and putting a bounty on his head. Tell him to watch hisrear or I'll skin it and turn it into a pair of saddle bags for my dewback.
Well, aside for week 7 all this is true. Any body else received the "Smuggler Treatment" lately?
Weeee!

Been there, done that once with a travel agency thet tried to screw me over and make me pay more for a vacation that I was supposed to. After many weeks of calling them, threatening, contacting a local (to them) newspaper (I'm in South Carolina, they were in Washington state), and a local (to me) TV station that works to help people in situations like these, and contacting the BBB, and one very loud angry threatening call using many 4-letter words, I finally got my refund.
Don't mess with a Smuggler, especially if he's got contacts in media places.

Yeah but the only difference is - in real life, you can sue the DJ's.
In SWG, you can't sue SOE that I know of, due to their EULA's.
