Thread: Anyone noticed somehting on slicing??

for the past couple of weeks i've noticed that when I slice weapons I have been getting speed slices somewhere around75%of the time, maybe higher then that. i haven't written everything down but thinking about starting to. i've just been getting a lot of speed slices compared to damage slices. It doesn't seem to be 50/50. Its to the point that when I get a damage slice I start to celebrate. I can't tell you how many times i've had 7-8 speed slices in a row. Even had 10 in a row at one point. I stopped slicing for the night cause I was so pissed after that.
Has anyone else noticed this? or is it just me? Maybe a silent nerf or something? Its pretty annoying when guildies come up with really nice weapons that they want sliced and I can almost guarentee a speed slice for them.

I understand all that. I'm asking if anyone else has noticed something like i've been getting. Yes slicing is supposed to be random. Yes you don't know what you're going to get. I understand all that. But that doesn't explain my problem. I'm seeing if anyone else has noticed this. Maybe its just me. Maybe i'm just on a really really bad streak. But these runs are happening way too much for me to consider it bad luck.

Wayne consults his 7 months of recorded slicing statistics, closing in on 5000 slices, then pulls out his Shaman outfit, mounts his Throne of Slicing Percentages, and as a drum begins to beat slowly in the distance,begins to recite the Randomness Mantra:

Sorry, XTekx... had to do that.
Anyone who has been a Smuggler for any length of time has had streaks like yours where they begin to doubt the randomness. I had a crate of 25 laser rifles and got 20 or 21 speed slices. One guy on these forums LAST WEEK reported like 30 encumb slices in a row. I personally have had 14 or 15 effectiveness slices in a row. Search isnt working for me right now, or I would link you to my thread on 6 months of slicing stats from a few weeks back. 5000 slices and EVERYTHING (eff/encumb, speed/damage) is within0.5% of being 50-50.

Ahhh Slicing....
This brings up one of my favorite Dilbert comics.....
Accountant: "Over here we have our random number generator."
RNG: "Nine Nine Nine Nine Nine Nine"
Dilbert: "Are you sure that's random?"
Accountant: "That's the problem with randomness. You can never be sure."
That should explain smugglers slicing to anyone!
