I've been working up games of chance in my head and this is one I might start offering in cantinas, starports and outposts soon...
Corellian Craps
Popular with Smugglers and Entertainers, Corellian Craps is a game that's existed since the Old Republic. As you travel through Cantinas and Starports across the galaxy you may stumble across many variations of the game but I'm going to present the basic rules here:
Players /Tip in an "Ante" to the "Dealer"/"House" (you) in order to be invited to the group.
The group can be as few as 3 or as many as 20. Both the size of the group and the Ante are up to you. Needless to say, the more players the bigger the "Pot". An ante of 1000 credits is popular because it's an easy number to work with. All the Antes go in the "Pot".
Corellian Craps is played in "Rounds". Once the Dealer announces the House is closed the Round can begin.
The dealer then rolls one die (usually a 12 sided die but 10 and 20 are also popular).
This number is the "Sting" or the "Losers Point" for the round.
Corellian Craps is played with three dice. The first die represents the "Light" side of the force. The second number represents the "Dark" side of the force and the third number is the "Point".
The Dealer now asks the first member of the group if they want Light or Dark and to /tip their bet (with an Ante of 1k the bets usually range 1k min and 5k max but it's up to you).
If their choice (Light/Dark) is greater than the Point they win. If not they Lose.
If the Point is equal to the Sting they Win.
If their choice (Light/Dark) is equal to the Sting they lose.
If Light and Dark roll the same thing they lose.
If their choice (Light/Dark) is equal to the Point they win double.
If all three die are the same they win Triple.
When a player loses they are kicked from the group and half of their bet goes to the house the other half goes in the Pot.
When a player wins they get their winnings and stay in the round until it is their turn again.
The dealer makes his way through the group until he gets down to one person in the group or the "Last Man Standing".
The LMS then plays for the pot- She calls for either light or dark but does not have to /tip a bet. All of the winning rules apply (double and triple wins).
Once a player leaves the group (whether kicked or of their own free will) they cannot rejoin the group until the round is over and any winnings owed to them are forfeit.
Now here is how aproper Round is called by a dealer:
Dealer:
Corellian Craps game here! /tip 1k to Ante and join the group. We need (x) more players the house will close and the game will begin.
Dealer:
The house is now closed. The house is closed. (Rolls one Die) And the Sting is 3.
Dealer:
(to first player) The pot is 5k and the Sting is 3. Tip in your bet Light or Dark.
Player 1:
Light. (/Tips 3k)
Dealer:
Light, 3k it is. (Rolls 3 Dice) The numbers are 5 2 11. Sorry. (Kicks player from group)
Dealer:
(to Player 2) the pot is 6500 and the Sting is 3 Tip in Light or Dark.
Player 2:
D. (/tips 2k)
Dealer:
Dark 2000! Here we go- (rolls 3 dice) 8 2 3. The house gets stung! You Win! (/tips 4000)
Dealer:
(to Player 3) the pot is 6500 and the Sting is 3 Tip in Light or Dark.
Player 3:
L. (/tips 1000)
Dealer:
1k Light! Here we go- (rolls dice). 8 4 6. Winner! (/tips 2000).
...etc. etc. until you reach the last man standing.
I'm not quite sure if the odds are in my favor but it sounds like fun to me. Is there anything I should change.
Also, this is a game that can be played in a Solo Group- but the dealer has to keep track of who is out of the Round without booting them and the players have to understand that each tip has a 5% service charge on it.
...what do you guys think?
Question: What is the command to say something to the group? Do you just /say something with the group chat window open? And can you direct this to a person in the group with CNTRL + group #?

Group chat is /g
Do all players in the group see the numbers rolled (i'm guessin you're using in game crafted dice?)??
sounds like a fun fill in until some type of casino is eventually opened.

Awesome Post Hotdog!
I never even thought about it, but this would be awesome to play in game. I would love to see Sabaac put into the game, but until that time this will do quite nicely!

Thanks Broken! And thanks for the /G Tip Jibberish!
Yes. when you roll the crafted game dice pieces everyone in your group can see what the roll is.
In fact if players wanted they could make bets amongst themselves while the dealer goes down the line.
I made a few hundred g's last night running missions in a solo group so I might try this out now that I have a lil' bank roll.
If anyone DOES throw one of these games PLEASE post here about how it went so we can refine it for faster/easier play.
And if anyone figures out how the trade window can be used to bet things like houses/ bikes/ ships without slowing the game too much I am all ears.

I'm new to this gambling with dice thing... but here is a quick-thought idea for a Poker game:
You said there are 12-sided dice in the game. That is close to a suit in cards (13 cards in a suit).
Now you could come up with some way to do suits, as in a real deck or in a sabaac deck, but lets forget about suits and keep this simple. So no suits/no flushes.
I'm not sure of the name of the poker game this is a variation of, but basically it is either 5 or 7-card roll 'em, best 5 count.
5 cards would make the hands shorter.. but 7 would make it more interesting and raise the pots....
You would play in a small group (say 3-5) like a regular poker game.
Good news: the dealer can play too!
Bad news: dealer has to keep track, and state, who has what, so that may be a problem, may be ok with 3 or 4 players.
Dealer needs two 12-sided dice. Each dice roll equals one card dealt.
Here is how it would go:
The possible winning hands would be (from lowest to highest):
- high card (high number)
- pair (two like numbers)
- two pair
- 4-long straight (for example: 5-6-7-8)
- three of a kind
- full house (pair + 3 of a kind)
- 5-long straight
- 5 of a kind
All players ante (say 1K)
Dealer goes "around the table" and deals each person 2 cards (rolls two dice).
Person with the "best hand" (pair possible) bets first, or "checks" (passes).
(Probably best to Limit the number and amount of raises to keep the filthy rich from buying pots)
Each person can call, raise, or fold.
After betting has settled, dealer deals one card to each remaining player.
Another round of betting,..
Another round of betting,..
rinse and repeat: deal one card, bet, until all 5 or 7 cards have been turned.
EXAMPLE GAME:
Dealer: "Game is beginning, ante 1K if you wish to be dealt in."
2Players (Lefty andEddie) bothante (tip)1K to play.
Dealer: "Game is now closed, deal forthcoming"
Dealer rolls two dice for Lefty and states the results: "Lefty gets a 4-8"
Dealer rolls two dice for Eddie, and states the results: "Eddie gets a 2-11"
Dealer rolls two dice for Eddie, and states the results: "Eddie gets a 2-11"
Dealer rolls two dice for himself: "Dealer gets a 3-6"
Dealer: "Eddie has high card 11 and bets."
(Round of betting ensues, everybody is still "in")
Dealer rolls one die for Lefty and states the results: "Lefty gets 4. Now has4-4-8"
Dealer rolls onedie for Eddie, and states the results: "7 for Eddie: Now has 2-7-11"
Dealer rolls onedie for Eddie, and states the results: "7 for Eddie: Now has 2-7-11"
Dealer rolls one die for himself: "Dealer gets a 5, now has 3-5-6"
Dealer: "Lefty has high pair 4-4 and starts the betting...."
ETC.
