Thread: question about the credit dupe and how it affects the common slicer

as a smuggler I've been sitting outside coronet for alot of today slicing for people. How do I know that the, say 45k for a composite suit, credits aren't from the credit dupe and my account will get suspended.
Plus, a random guy tipped me 100k and I immediately tipped it back and notified a CSR, u think I'm in trouble?

I do! course I'm also worried, I go off to college on Wed. Last thing I want is to get my comp set up and find out myaccount was suspended during the move

I dont understand this.
What is going on? What do I need to look out for? Are large transactions dodgy now? I have a mill to a close mate (from the real world) to help her set up her Mall - are we gonna get in to trouble? How about that 6 million rifle AA I sold thru the guys vendor?
No - I dont want to know how it is done, I want to protect my arse....

ok guys listen up no need to worry.
from what ive readed in the forums and a ticket a friend got from a csr there is nothing to worry about if anf only if you've bought money from somewhere or tried to fool csr guys.
they will look first look in their private logs,hehe maybe thats not the name but oh well,for big amounts of money being deposited via normal tip or bank tip to a person with no normal reason.
if u have been slicing awesome weapons get awesome slice and you get tipped 1mill you dnt have to worry becuase that was earned.
their just going to look for "STRANGE" amoutn of cash going from one hand to another without no bussines transaction in between.
so if ure honest no worries
try to hide pixies and muon's thou or the sh%& will hit the fan lol

The actual process of dupeng the credits (Cant post it as you can imangine) is EXTREMLY simple to track. So basically anyone doing it will be monitored from then on in having there accounts logged to see where money goes and the what not. A simple slicer should be fine but I would contemplate taking screenies or /log all your activites for the next couple of days.
If someone comes up to you with 5 brand new Geo blasters or other high priced items that havent been used I would be suss though.
If your just trading 1 mill to someone you owe money then you are pretty much in the clear as I think they are only checking to see if you used the dupe. All though if you have recieved a large amount from someone using the dupe and then you pass that on to someone else, expect your account to me monitored too.
Basically be very vigilante and take large amounts of money of people you trust only.

Other simple option: Break up your payments. Someone owes you 1 mil, break it into 4 250k segments (Or 5 250K segments if they aren't too bright and you don't like them =) ). A little annoying, but if it necessary to catch credit dupers, I'm all for it... I bust my booty for my credits.

I have never heard of this problem. Without revealing too much, can someone please tell me what is going on?
I am concerned because I have a decent amount of money and I often loan my friends a Million or more credits.
Just the other night I loaned a friend 2 million credits... traded it to him in a window.
Right now I have 12+ million and have 4.5 million loaned out to friends.
Why would this only involve large amounts of creds?
Is this like a transaction that somehow gets completed but not logged? (Don't answer this one if its too sensitive).
I am an honest player and don't really care if the devs investigate my holdings, but it's like the IRS in real life... you would rather they weren't breathing down your neck even if you have done nothing wrong!
Thanks in advance for any information, however vague it may be....

Maybe, some day I'll start a multi-national conglomerate Company that no one really knows exactly what we do... So we'll make comercials that make that fact even more vague.... =)

In other conversations about this, manythink that this will only effect those who get tipped a large million+ amount. If this is the case, then the only Smugglers who may have problems would be those who just sold 10,000 to 60,000 faction to somebody for 1,250,000 to 7,500,000 credits (125 cred/fp seems to be a common rate).
I am happy to see the devs taking action on this, but I will be disapointed if a bunch of totally innocent people get hit because they had no idea that some cheaterwas paying them in bad credits.
