Ok... I'm tired of people whining about why there isn't slicing and spice xp (and even underworld xp)... Let me explain it to you. Now, we have combat abilities in both trees, that are pretty handy. Because we have combat abilities there, wouldn't it be just as if not moreso idiotic if we could shoot a gun better by being a computer hacker/ gun tweaker? You can at least argue that by using weapons, you have a better understanding of how they work. Now, some may say, "Ok, if that's the problem, then why don't they just move them from those trees and put slicing, spice, and some sort of underworld xp in?" This is the most dangerous, and destructive thing you could do to our proffession. If we went back to clumping it all into dirty fighting, then we save the smuggler dabblers (most notably the BH's) the trouble of choosing one branch to get Last Ditch, but they will get the whole pot too! That would destroy our proffession, and bring on a ton of nerf cries.
Next, we have the issue of no slicing mitigation/hinderances on armor with the new system. As it is, the better the armor, the higher these are. Its a tradeoff that makes it so you truely must be certified with an armor to use it. If noobs with novice pistoleer start walking around with 7000 energy armor, they will need to get huge penalties for it. This is another reason that makes dabbling in a proffession less useful, and creates balance, so there is not one good end all armor type, and that if you don't have the best armor you won't be able to do jack. This was what the purpose of the CU was trying to make, and whether you agreed with the changes or not, would you rather have everything in the CU, all the stress, bugs, nerfs and all of that made meaningless? That's why even armorsmiths can't experiment on hinderance, because they intended it to be a balance. The last thing we need is to tip the scale.
Finally, I will give an explanation to why there can't be SAC slicing... I um... Actualy can't quite think of a reason right now... Lol,someone else said it earlier, and it was pretty good, but I just can't quite remember it right now, but it made sense.
