And by lime I mean sour taste.

Sorry, I KNOW there are a hundred million bajillion "Hey new slicing" Pub 19 threads out there, but I they're all hopped up on goofballs or something and I can't make heads or tails of them.

So, I'm asking three questions to see if I understand what's being said.

1. The slicing interface is still a series of popup menus? Not the single interface with a wiring diagram, and all the options on it that was promised?

2. Slicing now requires no Smuggler made tools or skill? It's just, "select modification", "you have modified X by B amount?" So the only strategy in it is choosing which options you want, no technique or chance to screw up, and/or do a REALLY good job?

3. When a Weapon jams, it goes to 0 condition, and can only be repaired by a weaponsmith, sometimes not at all?

Yes you get a pop up option, you choose what you want to slice. The item is sliced. If you want to slice the weapon up to the next tier or slice another option you have to slice it again. You get an option to "rebuild the weapon back to it's orginal state" There are no cool UI.

2. Slicing now requires no Smuggler made tools or skill? It's just, "select modification", "you have modified X by B amount?" So the only strategy in it is choosing which options you want, no technique or chance to screw up, and/or do a REALLY good job?

No tools and no screw up. A good slicer will know which options the customer wants though to get the best out of the wepaon. It might not always be best to place all the points into speed for example.

3. When a Weapon jams, it goes to 0 condition, and can only be repaired by a weaponsmith, sometimes not at all?

No it just stops working until a smuggler "rebuilds it"

So it basically still sucks, and they dumbed it down tokeep itkinda quickso we can still be slicewhores.

Eh, I'll give this part a chance...

That, I am totally cool with. In fact that was one of my favorite parts about the new proposed system.

A CDEF I made for slicing purposes jammed in my first fight and it went from 866/866 to 0 conditon. My Wook Armor Chest Plate lost about 8k in conditon the first time it failed, had to fix it (single radial click) and I could use it again. Failed a 2nd time and went to 0 conditon.
