Thread: Slicing 'risk' idea
- Added customization increases risk of being scanned/caught and increased fines.
- Smugglers can in some way reduce those odds/penalties either permanently (each slice has a random modifer)or temporarily (wears off over time or after so many scans or if detected).
- Confiscation... just kidding!!
I don't know, just some ideas as breakage may be out of the question.
We've been screaming for a REAL crackdown on contraband for a long time now. The devs haven't responded at all.
Fact is that a real crackdown would be too much of an imposition on the players and it simply isn't going to happen.
Personally I think it's lame to see Smugglers standing in front of the startports right next to law enforcement NPCs shouting their illegal activities.
If they had given us what was In Concept for slicing I don't think you'd be hearing much of this griping. But they didn't and I really wonder if they ever had any intention. We got a slicing system that is far less interesting than their original concept and because of the damage cap on weapons it simply doesn't provide much for the effort. The reason the removal of breakage is an issue is more due to a dismanteling of an alreadyless-rich system than simply the loss of breakage.
