Ive had quite a number of tells asking if i sold bases lately... Am i missing something? I've been Master Smuggler for a while and never knew about an ability to 'sell' bases.
Is it new? wrong? a tease?

Smugglers get a discount for buying faction perks so they usually buy bases for lower prices to sell.

I believe you have to be Overt to get the option to buy bases from the recruiters. If you are not overt, you may not have known the options existed. Can someone confirm this to be true?

i get those tells alot. It sounds like a profitable business...how much do the diff sized bases run in credits if one were to sell? or even the turrets and other goodies? hmmm...maybe a post for the bloodfin trade page hehe

Wish I got some of those tells! I sold one base in the 4 months that I was a triple master(smallest base, cost master smuggler 15k fp and I got 2.5 million for it!)..never sold 1 faction point..sold very little spice...there is only 3 things I miss..discount at recruiter, fp discount at death and slicing terminals.

The trick with bases (unless you're a faction farmer) is, it takes 2 Smugglers to work the deal. One (Smuggler A) MUST be a Master with enough rank to hold 45000 FP (For the large bases). The other (Smuggler B) MUST have at LEAST UW4, and the higher the rank, the better...Colonel is preferable.
Smuggler B buys the faction from the recruiter and /delegates it to Smuggler A, who acts as a FP bank. Smuggler A then uses his Master discount and buys the base at the discounted price. You then resell the base to the client. Price will vary depending on what you're charging per FP. And you have to remember to divide your profit by 2...half for you...half for your partner.
So...say Joe Customer orders one of the big bases...
Regular price: 60000 FP
Master Smuggler price: 45000 FP
Price per FP: 150 cr
45000 x 150 = 6.75 Mil cr <<--------- This is what Joe Customer pays.
"Cost"
Rebel Colonel: ~3.85 Mil
Imperial Colonel: ~4.25 Mil
Profit
Rebel: ~2.9 Mil
Imperial: ~2.5 Mil
Split the profits with your partner and you walk away with 1.25-1.45 Mil apiece. Adjust the numbers accordingly for higher or lower FP prices.
