I have not particiapted in PvP on more than a casual level. The occasionalIMP guild is attacking our guild, some IMP shooting of his mouth in a buff line, stuff like that.

In the VERY short future I may be required to become a "Whirlwind of PvP death" I think I called it, I am tryingto scare an entire IMP guild...

Right Now I a Master Smuggler (That ain't changing), TKM, And I dabble in Swordsman.

I need the best template (Ack I feel all dirty) that includes Master Smuggler. I need advise from otherMaster Smugglersinvoled PvP.

I am assumiing Master Smuggler/TKM/Pistoleer but I thought I would double check.

The triple threat is a great all around templet and doable in pvp. I was Master Smuggler/Mpistoleer/fencer 4,4,0,0. You'll have great defence mods and high melee defence and range defence. I really am not a pistol kind of guy so I decided to head back up the fencer line of master smuggler/master fencer pistoleer 0,0,4,4. Plus the novice medic for each of these templets. Dodges stack with either weapon you use and fencer has best pvp defence. If you are a ranged fighter then the first templet would be your best defence and pretty decent offence but you are still under speed cap for pistols. It a trade off I guess. TKM is great all around but limited in damage type.

I use the triple master. My best tactic is normally to just lowblow them, paincshot, run up try to land a dizzy before they can stand, if they stand the normal blind, intem, stun, dizzy, lunge. And just pound on what ever ham is lowest for them.IF they go ranged you go ranged and try to Lowblow them again. Against CMs warcry and panicshot can be a big helper. Fencers are also pretty easy to take as long as u have some good stun armor and time to do it. I remember someone saying something about unarmed combo doing something to a fencer but i cant quite remember. Was once a master fencer and dropped it right away. Not my style i guess.

Not sure what game you are playing that fencers are easy to take lol (I know, I am one). Unless they aren't master or just have no other combat skills and crappy equipment they aren't easy to take down.

I USED TO take Defense Stacker 2....do you?

OslasAne has a pretty good tip on stacking fencer with pistoleer. You will be able to dodge with any weapon and the defenses will be incredible. However, you won't do as well against Jedi simply because you have not mastered a melee profession. Just something to watch out for.

Personally, I think Master Pistoleer is still good to include simply because you can leverage DF with some of the pistoleer bonuses. Also, a master pistoleer has the best state defenses of the ranged professions and is the hardest to knockdown. In addition, there are a wealth of pistoleer SEAs available. On the subject of SEAs...

The best thing I ever did for PvP was buying pistol speed. I can't emphasize that enough. You really need to get to the point where you are attacking at the same rate as your opponents. Take your slowest gun and figure out exactly how much speed you will need to fire it at the cap. For a 2.6 geo, you will need around +93 (you have +74 as a master pistoleer).

Practice PvP tactics against NPCs while running missions. Pistoleers have the best accuracy while moving. Never stop moving! In addition to making you harder to hit, it frustrates melee users. Practice switching cursors in battle from the targeting recticle to the arrow cursor for strafing. But seriously, practice against NPCs like you would in a fight. For most, it is relatively easy to stand in one place and pound them with last ditch but you have to get comfortable using all of your skills.

Don't forget your brawler skills. You can intimidate with a pistol. Unarmed stun and unarmed blind will do wonders for you.

For now i'm going master swordsman / master brawler / master smuggler. Might put the rest of the points into TKA for defense staking or into medic skills. Not bad for pvp exp with the lunge 2 in master brawler to knock down your oponent and the intimidate 2. I like swords and my 454 damage scythe with good speed packs a whooping. I say just pick a weapon you like and add it to smuggler. I dont want to do pistols on this char so i'll just stop with the smuggler line. TKA is great buti prefer to carry some sort of weapon. Got an Acklay power hammer, great scythe. Gives you a few more things to play with as a swordsman. So you get some PVP ability and if you want to do some PVE you can do that too. Just my 2 cents.

Not sure what your asking here, but IF your asking ifthis would be a good templet for pve with the 4,0,4,0 instead of 4,4,0,0 fencer? .

(short answer) yes will work as well.

(long answer) What I mean by that is as a fencer/or pistoleer you lack any high damage output and soloing things like NS elders and krayts with this templet will be pretty tough compared to riflemen or swordsmen. Can you domid level content? Sure. What lines tochoose was ahard choice for me when Ileveling pistols. I saw advantages to both fencer stacks. What decided it for me in the end is I don't like being knock down so 0400 fencer line was whatdecided. Dizzy is ok to get in pve if you have a high resist to knock down or posture change which you will have. PvP different story. But either way you go will work for pve your gaining either way.

I think this will come in quite handy, thanks to everyone who responded.

As soon as I get a bit more comfortable in PvP, I will come back with some more intelligent questions.
