Bah, anyways. Anybody ever feel like your being to nice of a guy playing a smuggler. I have always pictured smugglers as corrupt or selffish or mean-spirited with a few exceptions. I feel that a smugglers is everyone best freind or go to guy in this game. A smuggler should be someone you want to stear clear off unless you have illegel dealing yourself. There really is now threat what-so-ever to being a smuggler. I left the rebels cuase I felt I wasnt being challeged enough. I guess there can only really be a punishment if your doing something illegel like um.... smuggling. But sliced armor or equiped weapons should be obvious to a stormie that your doing something illegel. These scans are a joke. Does anyone else feel like we have any threat in our line of work?

Oh I agree, but the way it's set up you have to be a nice guy.. If you want to make some credits you can't be a jackwad.. just doesn't work. There are too many smugglers out there who can do the same thing, so the nicer you are the more people will "use" you.

I'm just praying for the day when BHs start hunting us.. If I wanted to I could do the same thing the docs do.. sit in the Coronet Starport and shout.. "form a line, slicing 4k per slice" I'd make a killing, but that's super lame... put smuggling to the back allies.. give us a vissibility rating.. then we could afford to be a little more roguish.. because many of the current smugglers out there would stop being so blatent about being a smuggler..

I always find it funny to see an Imerial smuggler,,, isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Imperial Smuggler does not have to be a contradiction in terms, if you know how to RP it right.

For instance, I personnaly Smuggler Information to the Impire, I do this by seeing how many data disks I can find and then give them to the recruiters. They don't have a Spy profession, but an Imperial Smuggler fits the bill.

Hell, I'm still pissed off by non-Smuggler Imperials being able to get past scanns.

What they should do, is make not only Imperials scan, but also Rebel NPCs in Rebel areas(really, would the Rebellion want thier soldiers on spice all the time?), as well as CorSec, RSF, and other police forces. It would deffinately make things more interesting. And it wouldn't detract from the oppression the Empire is imposing, simply make the consequences for getting caught by an Imperialscannerworse.

Now, I'm not saying Imperial players shouldn't get any benefit from being scanned by Imperial scanners, simply make the consequences for getting caught with contraband less severe as you attain rank, but still have consequences. Same for Rebel players getting scanned by Rebel NPCs.

Im a Imp smuggler. I look at myself as the goto guy in the army. More so since I deal in illegel matters and my col. rank I se mysellf as a corrupt intell officer. i do something illegel and report there is rebel activity in the area and blame it on them i have fun with it. I hear there my be criminal faction or black sun / jabba type faction in jtl. can anyone confirm or deny this for sure?

I am Imperial smuggler also. No there is nothing wrong with turning a few creds by selling "select merchandise" to "select clientell". Hey, it is not illeagle, if you do not get caught!!
