Even when I succeed on the slice, the mission payout is not increased

Most likely the terminals aren't programmed to have their payouts increased, because before the BH prerequisite changes it was impossible to be an MBH with Terminal Slicing abilities. Granted you could be a non-Master BH with the ability to Slice terminals, but they probably figured the issue would never come up (and as I've been reading these forums for over a year I can honestly say I've never seen it mentioned that Slicing BH terminals doesn't grant a higher payout). When they changed the BH prerequisites they didn't think of the possibility of a BH with Terminal Slicing, or even if they did they might have just said "we'll take care of it in the Smuggler revamp."
Sucks that it doesn't work; guess we'll just have to add it to our ever-growing list

Yeah, BH terminals have always given us Slicing XP. A lot of people like to slice the BH terminals in Mos Eisley, because you can blast thugs while waiting on the 2-minute timer, and hopefully loot some Locked Containers off of them.

I don't really think Bounty Hunters should get a higher payout from sliced Bounty Hunter terminals. Hell, I'm working on an alt to make into a Hunter, but I won't make him templated like most kiddies do now adays. I'll actually Master it. If I pick up anything from Smuggler, it'd be Underworld 1 for Language Comprehension.
Reason why? Bounty Hunters are supposed to hunt Smugglers, not be one.

I had always thought that bounty hunters AND smugglers were "scum".
Or were at least, both regarded as such.
I see no reason why they couldnt work at both sides of a slime trail.
Both professions, are not normally thought of as "classy" in any event.

While neither of them are seen in good light, they are onopposite sides.

Didn't GreenMarine say that whenever our revamp comes (and I'm sure this is subject to change) that slicing into aBounty Hunter terminal could actually get you on the terminals with a bounty, if you fail? I think he also said we wouldn't be able to use clamps on them due to some security measures the Bounty Hunter Guild has on them, but if we did manage to succeed we could lower our "visibility".
That may be an older idea that they may or may not end up using though, who knows.

Yeah, I think so, along with the ability to lower the visibility of others.
e.g. Jedi, people caught with contraband, etcetera

I'm betting that the reason the mission payout when sliced isn't increased is because the XP given from Bounty Hunter missions is based on the payout of the mission. If the mission pays 10000 credits, upon completion you get 2% of the mission payout as xp, so 200 xp. If it was sliced, you'd get more xp for the same mission, as well as credits.

That's how it works with faction terminals, and those can be sliced for greater profit and faction points... so why not BH terminals? I noticed this as well, and dropped BH.
