Thread: Question about Triple Master Progression

I'm going for the TKM/Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer template, right now I'm at TKM/ 1-4-0-4 Smuggler and 0-0-0-3 Pistoleer. My question is in what order should I be getting the skill trees/boxes? I'd like to master Smuggler first but if it would be alot harder to do Dirty Fighting and Underworld without additional Pistoleer maybe I would be better off doing all or part of pistoleer first.

I'm essentially doing the same thing, let me tell you how I have done it thus far. Seems to be working pretty well.

First I grabbed Dirty Fighting 1, then went Pistol Tech 1-4. Then Pistol Marksman 1-4, then Pistol grips. Once I finish Pistoleer I will easily knock out the Pistol XP needed for Smuggler. The key is Fan shot, which is excellent at killing creatures. Once you get that it's somewhat of an easy grind, IMHO.

The quickest way to the Smuggler/Pistoleer double is to do the Pistoleer first because it will make Smuggler quicker.

If you come into a dire need of cash, run solo groups because that will pay more than Slicing. Faction can pay better, but that requires three things:

1. Master Smuggler
2. Colonel
3. Customers that know and trust you (AND that need factional items)

Thanks, I'll get Fanshot first then.

If you don't want to do all of pistoleer first, at the very least get 0404. That will give speed and accuracy. However, fanshot is a great special to useto level up.

Absolutely do Pistoleer Techniques first. With my first Smuggler character I made the mistake of trying to do Smuggler first.

When I came back to SWG last month, I had a bunch of extra points left over since BH no longer required Master Scout. I had enough xp to start Pistoleer at 0-0-2-3 and I'm glad I put those points into Techniques. OK, it was done mainly to get the Geno certification, but I could not believe how helpful that was. I completed the remaining boxes very quickly (one or two weeks of hunting for a single buff session each night).

Once that was done, I embarked upon Smuggler. Including Slicing and Spices, I completed the entire profession in less than two days. I think a great deal of the speedy levelling came from two things: the Geno pistol and Fan Shot. Both of them from the Techniques tree.

/agree to basically all of what was said before.

I did master pistoleer first, then worked on the pistols line in smuggler. You won't beleive how fast you kill things as a master pistoleer vs. a 4-4-4-4 pistoleer, it takes you a little more than half the time to kill things as master than 4-4-4-4.

I finished all of DF and Underworld in 3 buff sessions running Janta/Mokk missions and with my geo.

Pistoleer first, then smuggler. Then when you have a few hours on a weekend, do TKM (yes, it is sadly that fast as compared to the pistols).

Well I was a master doc/master pistoleer switching to the tripple threat and the fact I had master pistoleer let me get all the smuggler pistol xp in2 hours on yavin just attacking un named crystal snake lairs.

First use up yur combat xp and do 0004 pistoleer. Then do Smuggler. Then delete the 0004 pistoleer, and do something usefull like master fencer.

Assuming you can take out five quenker lairs an hour with Unarmed (and at lower levels it will take that long), you get about 300k of Unarmed xp per hour. You could complete all of TK in 12 hours at that rate, so a weekend is not an unreasonable time for completion.

You can do TKM faster than that if you do the Squill Cave, Jinda Cave or just plain go to the deep forest of endor and kill everything you walk past. Mastering TKM in 6-10 hours is VERY doable.

On a related note, I mastered pistoleer in just under 6 hours on endor. Good scatter pistol + crimson blurrgs + healthshot 2. Pistoleer doesn't have to take long, most people just choose to go the long way.
