I was reading one of the IGN articles on JTL linked from the galaxies main page. They mentioned that JTL runs on the same basic engine as the ground game, just that it uses more of the engines capabilities. They also suggested that since the devs onviously have started to get the idea of how to use the engine, perhaps with the revamps they could finally deliver some of the grander ideas that were originally promised but never delivered, or pulled from the game.
So could the coming revamps make the ground game seem new? could smuggler finally be an actual profession instead of a shame we bear?
