It seems that most people agree, the problem with Smuggler is that you don't actually smuggle.

Could it be possible that the Devs simply gave this profession the wrong name?

If it wasn't called smuggler do you think there would be as many complaints (many of which are justified) as there are?

for some reason LA would not let them launch the game with the original name. I dunno, I think the Master Doormat title would have been kinda fun.

Honestly, yea I kind of think so... I think smugglers can do exactly what we do, and they might have actually intended for us to smuggle at some point...

But then again having a tag called 'Master Criminal' just looks wierd.

I really REALLY want the title of 'Master Masochist'...it really seems fitting for all of us that have been smugglers since shortly after launch.

Information released regarding the Smuggler Revamp...

Apparently the Profession will be Renamed to 'Scoundrel' and Privateer will be made into the new 'Smuggler'

Yes yes...i've heard something about the privateers as the new smugglers...I think it entailed renaming teh existing master smuggs to "Master Fools with Hope of a Better Life" or something of that nature....i think my transmission may have been cut off....bloody imperials...always cutting off our secret transmissions!
