Thread: Goodbye to the Triple Master???

I know the combat upgrade/balance/revamp must occur, but I have to admit that the fact that it is SO drastic has me mildly worried. I have read that at the time of the Publish we will be allowed to realocate our skill points if we wish... Which makes me think this will be WAY drastic. I love my Triple Master Template...I really do. Do you think that Triple Master will no longer be possible in the new system? I know I guess I'm worrying ahead of time, but I'd like to get used to the idea of not having it. And then start thinking along the lines of what I WOULD like to have.

This is conjecture and projection...please ponder with me.

I hope not, I was gonna try that out. Of course I did read that but I still don't really understand what it means and how it works.

I think that the triple master will always be a powerful tool. You have a money-making profession, a melee profession, and a ranged profession.

It is a very balanced profession, however not the ultimate in power ... and I think it will continue to be that way.

How would they force us to give up skills we've earned? I think you'd be able to keep them, but not earn more after.

Think this is what OP is refering to. Can someone explain it in Basic?

I doubt they will change the skill point allocation too much, and i would be very surprised if the triple master is not achievable. but with the CU it won't be as effective in PvE as it currently is, and that should mean that you can keep your current template.

I do worry about my own template that i am working towards, (master smuggler, BH pistols, novice pistoleer, novice commando, TK meditate) I took a huge leap towards it last night, and finally dropped most of my TKM skills that i have proudly held for the last 9 months. I expect i may have to alter this template around the time of the CU, as it stands its a reasonable template for PvE, but nothing compared to TKM, and this may cause major problems at a later date.

Regarding re-allocation of skill points, i seem to remember reading somewhere else that this may be dependant on levels you have obtained, for example a newer player that hasn't got past the starter professions, but has used all 250 points shouldn't be allowed to jump straight to master elite, but a triple master would basically have free run of the skills.

Also i expect the stacking situation that is surrently in use to be abolished, so more players would mixand match combat profs with something for RP.

I think this might be along the same lines as the Jedi revamp where they changed how Jedi was achieved and all those people who holo'd for months got credit for their work in the form of XP towards the new system. This might be where some combo/templates might be altered in a way that they do not have the same affects as before and people might be stuck with a usless combo/template. So to aleviate that they will give you "credit" for your hard work in achieving these professions and give everyone the opportunity to re-allocate the skill points. Most likely it will be a one shot deal.

BTW this is only a guess on my part, nothing I stated is based on fact, just a guess.

it means you can change your template with out grinding the xp, like the frog on TC.

this will work like the jedi revamp which allowed you to do it in one session.

so choose wiselt as if you change your mind its time to grind again.

I just hope there will be some way of deciding on what we want before locking into a change. I'd like to be able to jump on TC with the Blue Frogs for a little while and see how things work before loging into my mains and having to decide without knowing.

I think that will happen DRWolfe. The changes would hit Test Center, and SOE would be making a HUGE oversight in removing the frogs there.

I remeber somewhere it will be like an open-beta for everyone to test it out before it goes live. With frogs and everything.
