I'm a near Master Smuggler and have never used FD. I was under the impression that using FD would cause BF and wounds and degrade your armor(if equiped) even if nothing was attacking you. But after reading the boards it seems someof you use it in PvE alot... and even just to raid the fridge when in the wilderness.
So... what does FD do if nothing is still attacking you? Are there negative effects?

No not really, but whatever caused you to feign death in the first place, will come screaming back for your blood, the moment you stand back up. Even when the distance between yougoes beyond 100m.

Yes, when (in PVE) a mob attacks and you FD, you will re-gen but as Caylin pointed out when you stand up they will be on you like white on rice. Also it can be used in PVP to avoid a DB but be warned you will still be open for attack by the player, hence the damage and BF you mentioned in your first post. Good Luck!

I've been playing with FD a lot more lately, and am really starting to enjoy it. I think boosting my secondaries would help with this a lot. Either adjusting with an Image Designer, or working in a quick hit of spice into my FD macro as I hit the floor. Any suggestions?

Once you master the art of FD add Force of Will to the mix, a hugh life saver in theDWB/Corvett and PVP.
